the egg... no discussion possible...
and here is why:

before chickens even existed, dinosaurs walked the earth...and they laid eggs too...so the egg was here before the chicken!

the discussion would go further if the question would be: "what came first? the chicken or the chicken-egg?"

but then you have to ask yourself this first:
what is the definition of a chicken-egg?
A: an egg from which a chicken is born.
B: an egg that came from a chicken.

if you think the answer is A. then the egg was first.
if you think the answer is B. then the chicken was first.
