If you watch any of the following videos on the BBC website then you will see that there are medical staff present. Anyway, a lot of rural traditions are quite dangerous. I used to do Cumberland wrestling, and there was a young amateur who fell very badly at one show, and the air ambulance had to be called because they thought he had broken his neck - he hadn't but that is besides the point.
