Other PC infecected

I got a rather stupid question I guess (as usual)

errr

Well there's another pc on the router that has shitloads of virus's and I wanna know if they could spread to my PC. Were not sharing files or anything and I dont even know if we are in a network cuz I never set that up, actually I dont even know how that all works and that's why I'm a bit confused :S

The other pc will be formatted today so that should fix things at least for a while :S

Would be nice if anyone could explain some things to help me understand the situation better.

A Virus cant spread from one PC to another PC with same broadband connection. However if you're sharing files/a folder (w/virus) then it's possible that the virus can spread.

hm I had "use simple file sharing" checked but there's nothing in the folder that I could share and I think I would need a network for that or? I don't have any virus's tho, checked with every online scanner and 3 normal ones. Could the other PC's virus's get through to may pc and install a root kit for example just by having that simple filesharing on (without anything in the folder + no files shared) ?

It wouldn't matter if it is wired or wireless. As long there is either a means of transport or storage then you are not safe. Make sure to install an antivirus software on all computers.
