Finally a new tooth!

So today 1 year and 15 days after the incident, I finally have a new tooth in my jaw!


I've had 3 surgery's that have been painfull to reconstruct the a piece of the upper jaw and also put a screw up there as a root!
Feels like I finally get on with my life :p

You have to leave the gums to heal and any roots to die so they leave it atleast 12 months.

naah they'll just remove the old root if there's one, so the bone will heal fast, and the gums actually heal in a few days, so it doesn't really take that long. Other thing is if there was some bone fracture or if other teeth got damaged and needed some orthodontics, but basically I think that the public sector just does these kinda operations slowly even in norway. Surely he could have had it in few months at a private practice

yeah not bad :)

I'm going to be an oral and maxillofacial surgeon some day but that will take a long time :D
Anyway, basically I'll be allowed to perform a similar operation in 1,5 years

Well I had fractured bones in the jaw, the upper jaw bone takes 1 more month to heal then the under jaw. They said it took abt 4 months for it to heal and I've had 3 surgerys = 12 months.

How much to you pay for such cirurgie? At Portugal, cirurgie + tooth = 1000€(or even higher)

implants are pretty expensive :)

a month ago I saw an operation where they put 6 of those and it surely costed more than 10 000e

think you will have a plastic tooth for your whole life which will never get any holes in it, doesn't require tooth brush to keep it white etc... I'd say it's worth 1000e
