CB digging themself a bigger hole?

Just before i post this link i would like to say that im neutral on the whole CB vs ESL scenario. However i do believe that CB arent helping their cause in the past few months illustrated by a number of posts from various contributors. Anyway, for those of u that dont follow cod4 - the team that cb are giving a red card to are 1 of the top teams in the game. They always play cb ladders - think they are ranked top in 5on5 ladder and always compete in ec etc and cb decided to do this. Worse than donex

And yes, retarded decision by the cb admins...
If strict means retarded, then yes. But playing with a player who is not on your APL is pretty retarded too. The sad thing is that there's no reason why top teams would want to play CB over leagues which do have prize money - like the ESL, otherwise teams might be more careful not to violate rules.
Parent
well sry but a banning a team from a EuroCup 1/2 final cause a player who is already 14days in the lineup but not on the APL is imo a bit retarded (in ESL he wouldn't have been allowed to play for 10days for example)... but yes they broke a rule, still giving them a red card for that is way over the top imo...

+ that "bad nickname" thing for the other team is really retarded sry... had the same shit also in ET few years ago if i remember right... that's so lol...everyone can see from the GUID who the player is... so plz...
Parent
retarded cb as always
CB ET admins more reasonable than cod4,dontf ollow community but i play cod2 ESL and they are stricter with rules

got penalty points for saying fuck u in game :( (was sayign it to my friend)
we should do an event, we let a cod supervisor admin an enemy territory match

"We don't let players/teams decide when to apply our rules, so any arrangement made by teams is always ignored."

This is bullshit. The league is for players, not the other way around.

The basic concept of making global rules is that the league has created the rules that are used only in case two teams cannot come to agreement in some matter. Unfortunately, with time organisations ossify so that the priority becomes 'keeping to the rules' - blind beaurocracy - no matter what you do, as long as you stick to the rules, everything is okay...
That's the most logical thing in the world. I wonder how the FA would react if both Man U and Chelsea would agree upon playing their game 13v13.
Parent
Don't exaggerate it. Did they decide to play 7v7 instead of 6v6? No? Basic rules were kept.
Parent
Rules are rules, whether they're basic rules or advanced rules.

There are no such things as optional rules.
Parent
But the computer game is about the fun (things might change if there are some money prizes) and if both teams AGREE to slighlty modify something then it shouldn't be a problem.
Parent
In theory, yes, the game is played for fun. But as soon as there's any kind of competition, it requires rules. Transgressed rules should be punished, end of discussion.

If only they contacted a supervisor before the game asking if toxjee could play...
Parent
What I found most intriguing was the sportsmanship of Power Gaming, you don't see that in Enemy Territory unfortunately :) The other team would take the forfeit win I'm sure.
rules are rules, rules don't care if you're #1 or #100000

the blame here lies on the useless ref that admined the match, he should've warned the team to add the player to apl and even more on the leader that didn't add the player to apl
did you even read the whole thing? Both teams agreed during warmup a merc was going to play. An admin was on the server the whole game, he never mentioned anything about somebody not being on the not allowed lists. Both teams asked to remove the red card AND the forfeit win, even the team that lost.
Parent
have you actually read what I wrote?
Parent
They couldn't add him to the APL anymore as they already added a player during playoff-stage and the ref assumed it wasn't necessary as he belongs to the team already for a few days/weeks as announced on various gamingsites.

The only thing you can blame the ref of was being too lenient.
Parent
then he shouldn't play if they added someone in playoffs already OR ask the supervisor, easy as that, is it not?
Parent
Yes, I absolutely agree. It's their own fault.
Parent
no, it's always someone elses fault when it comes to cb
Parent
oh noes the top team wasnt treated in special manner that would allow them to break the rules :0 so different from CB ET...

I guess there are some normal admins @ CB after all, and only ET ones are disabled...

[didnt read the conflict, dont mind me]
You should read some comments, you made yourself look like an idiot just now :P
Parent
tried to start some flame war... sadly i failed :<
Parent
had a good giggle about that
haha, the funpart is that an admin was actually on the server and speced the match :D
I bet he was like " harharrrr let's not say anything and fuck them after the game, i'm such a good admin"
Parent
You should've read the ref's posts instead of talking bs.
Parent
O MY GOD ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO SAY SOMETHING I DONT MEAN

WHAT IS THING THEY CALL SARCASM PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME
Parent
You based your sarcastic remark on false assumptions.
Parent
ESL IS SO FUCKING GREAT:D

jk, my prize money is 1 year late and admins arent answering \:D/
> implying you have won something in ESL
Parent
tl;dr

agree on the topic
rules are rules, both teams agreeing and ref not saying anything are irrelevant.

what a childish attitude btw: "let's leave CB because they apply their own rules!"
