If a bit bigger: MS intelli explorer 3.0
both ~22€
MX518 for everythin' else.
da if you use monumentally low sens
ime if you want performance equal to da/mx518 but at MUCH cheaper price
wmo if you want that same performance but don't need/want side buttons
mx518 if you want "features" such as prediction and/or have a deformed hand
and jesus fucking christ don't even consider buying a laser mouse
but you're right about the shape, it does take time to get used to it.
anyways, mx518 is cheaper than da and suits low sens as good because of its weight.
+1 for the laser, optical is how you roll.
What you need to do is to open the mouse, cut about 3cm from the cable where it goes into the mouse, cut another 3cm from the cable from the white contact (usually a rectangular white contact) end.
What you want to remove is the cable which is bent/twisted (this is what's causing the problem) and solder the longest cable together with the cable that has the white contact included.
Once you have soldered it, screw the bits and pieces back on your mouse. Your done.
