Not been yet and so i've only looked at various aerial maps of the center, and obviously will have a few questions.
1) How far is it (walking, in minutes please) away from the city center - and what is there in terms of shops, will i be able to purchase my years supply of stroopwafels from there or not?
2) What's the weather usually been like around this time, what has it been like last lan?
3)Just how expensive is the center, i know redbull is ~2.80Es, how much is everything else?
4) does the Eden have a fridge in the room?
5) are the monitors 4:3 compatible? Or will i have to use 1440*900@75?
Thanks

Gimli out.
1) Not really walkable easily, 10 mins on train
2) April has been nice, dunno about march
3) quite expensive
4) yes
I blame owzo for mentioning on einen ventrilo.
3) i suppose it is only a bit cheaper than the UK with the currency only a few cents in the favor of the euro
the eden seems pretty expensive/good, so i guess there will be a fridge.
its not that close to the center, as someone above me said you can travel there by train for a low price (from enschede drienerlo to enschede)
maybe you can also take a bus, i dont really know that.
btw i think the wzzrd/eden is closer to hengelo city center than to enschede city center.
2) Very variable - we've had awesome weather in April, but freezing weather with gale-force winds in February.
3) Fairly expensive, about the same as South East UK.
4) I think so, crumbs says yes so I'd believe him.
EDIT: In terms of shops, there is absolutely nothing anywhere near the LAN centre. There is a small cafe underneath Enschede D station, and a few restaurants in the Cinestar complex where WZZRD is based, but aside from that it's miles away from anywhere with any shops. The nearest shop is a petrol station a few minutes drive away, I think (it's on the way to the De Broeierd iirc, so quite convenient for people staying there). The whole area is a business park.
2) can be decent, but most likely loads of rain and not that warm
3) think it was like 5 euro for a "big" beer so quite expensive and uhm was like 5,50 for snacks etc they got some offers tho like a sandwich with a coffee
4) yes, its not that big but big enough to fit in enough chocolate desserts
more like 4
from poland
:')
i hope you forgive me
":D"
+ They need drink to forget their shitty life
I spent all my money on the DDR machine and just ate some skittles I brought over.
Just buy beer because it's cheap enough
prices are ok....
just take enough money for beer
I was so happy when i heard we would shower together in the Eden to save on getting-ready-time
2) March is mostly ok, but make sure you got atleast a jacket with you.
3) quite expensive, but there is a small supermarket on the campus which is alot cheaper and only a 10 min walk from Eden.
4) yes, but it's realy small.
its a fucking supermarket :P
killermix right there
As for the lan center, prices are decent. Not overpriced for Dutch terms.
3) Expensive. Buy your stuff at the supermarket, unless you get offered a drink :D
2) Totally depends. It isn't that warm so better take something extra with you. I dunno that much about that since we were there in December (was damn cold)
3) Depends what.. imo prices are the same as in other bigger eu countries so not that cheap.
4) dunno, send them an email
Find a crappy supermarket, I basically filled a trolley with stroopwaffles and beer the last time I was there!
