Rap das armas (Parapapapapa)

QuoteRap das Armas is one of the rap duo Brazilian Cidinho & Doca in different remix in 2009 was successful in Europe.

Rap das Armas (vert: Wapenrap) was written in 1993 by the MC's Junior and Leonardo. It is about the social evils in the favelas in Rio de Janeiro. These slums are often surrounded by expensive neighborhoods. The large income differences are there over the years created much crime and drug gangs. The number of first-person complains that the favelas as unsafe and that there is no prospect of a good future may have lack of education. To protect themselves equip the residents with weapons, which are listed in the rap. Although the text calling for peace and against violence ruling, the song was banned because it just would glorify violence and drug use. There was particular exception to the phrase Paz, Justiça e liberdade (peace, justice and freedom), as the motto of the Commando Vermelho, a criminal gang in the favela was. The song was therefore not on the radio, but nevertheless managed to be popular in Rio de Janeiro.

The chorus was especially contagious by the sound of a machine that has been imitated (para papa papa). In 1994 Junior and Leonardo wrote a new text for the song, more indentation to use the weapon while the impotence of the police to fight against criminal organizations. The chorus and the listing of weapons were present in this version. To sing the chorus, they asked the MC's Cidinho and Doca. Soon thereafter they took their own version without Junior and Leonardo.
