virtual DJ is OK, if u got a 5.1 soundcard u can pre-hear the track on the other deck...
traktor is threetimes cooler but u should have a midicontroller to use it well...
if u got a timecode system i would say that deckadance, traktor or serato would be a good solution...

MixMeister is by far the easiest program there is besides the Open source program called "Mixxx"

didnt even download it yet i cant tell anything about it...
i use virtual DJ to do some basic mixes until i got my vci-300 :)

actually u can pre-hear the track on other deck on left channel for example, while the other one is running on the other deck (right channel).
no 5.1 soundcard needed

what do you mean? mixing?
would be virtual dj, as its the only one i can think off that is free.
but it sucks hard.

just buy decks, 300 e for cdj 100s + 50 for a mixer.
only using pc is lame and you wont learn beatmatching.
