New pc prob

So ive just put my new pc together following the instructions to the letter. But now that I try to boot it, everything seems to power up but nothing is happening. Screen is blinking in standby mode and I dno if my hd is actually firing up. (fans and lights on case, mobo and gfx card are all running). On some occasions it seems to reboot by itself aswell.

any suggestions?

I should be able to get into bios even with a busted hd, right?

EDIT: well what did i fck up? its powering up and i checked every cable. Whats the minimum you need connected for a bios to show up on ur screen?

u should check you cpu and and motherboard ( needs to have 2 thingies attacked to the power supply normally ) rams and stuff
fuck the hds just make it work first , then u can add the fancy stuff :p

you only need cpu ram & gc to get a bios screen
see about the system bips in the mb manual to locate the problem :)

What GFX card have you installed and have you installed it to the PSU & MOBO correctly?

I know it sounds stupid but make sure everything is connected to the PSU and slotted in firmly, if everything is powering on but you can't see anything it's most likely your graphics card, make sure that is firmly in the PCI-E slot and you've connected the power cable to it (if it's a graphics card that you have to connect to the PSU)

ye ill try putting things in abit firmer tomorrow, already had a few fail boots becuz my power cable wasnt connected firm enough. Im just scared to bust my mobo by being to rough with it :)

well your answers below, take out the battery for 10 minutes and unplug it or just unplug it, take out the battery put the CMOS jumper on the other side for 10 secs, put it back and then put the battery back in :>

e: BTW if you installed all drivers n stuff and put Hz on and the mouse is jittery or shaky or everything seems to have some weird tearing, get another mobo :>

psu is 650 watt, asusp5ql pro mb, gfx card gainward gts 250.
and whats a cmos reset?
