If you are going to buy TV and want save some money, buy one with 50hz and don´t ever see 100/200hz next to it, they are so much smoother. But you won´t notice the difference until you have compared them side to side. After that 50hz is shit...
get an lcd when you go for under 32" if you want a bigger screen go for a plasma.
lcd > plasma
With plasma colours are more bright, LCD instead is a bit sharper.
Just look the Hertz, the ms and the resolution
Best thing to compare screens is just by going to a shop and see them with your own eyes
well i went to a shop yesterday but with like 400 televisions next to each other its kinda hard to decide :P

i know how you feel :P
but you must not make a decission based on the TV's you see in the store next to eachother. If you buy a new TV, you can adjust the color settings to your likings. So the difference in color/brightness/contrast you see in the store doesnt always point out the best option.

just like cattledecapitation said:
- go for a full HP,
- 100Hz or more

btw you could also visit some stores and let them give you some advice.

well mostly the people working in those stores dont really have a clue about it ( atleast in the big stores where i live here )
and i wouldnt buy a tv in the store anyways i compared the same tvs i saw yesterday with some online stores and u can get them all for 200€ - 400€ cheaper :x

They make sure they put a cheaper model next to a more expensive and then make sure the cheaper model looks bad by adjusting the options..

go with a known brand

get full HD

get 100Hz or more

hard to buy a new TV :< every month there are pricecuts

IF I get a new Tv ill buy it around or after soccerchampionships... cause they have good deals then
I think there are only three company's who make the screen. Philips, Samsung/Sony (some company like that) and I think one more. So buying a known brand doesn't really help because you will buy one of the screen of these 2/3 company's.

i think there's a lot more brands than that (LG/panasonic/Nike and so on)

There are different brands but the actual screen (dont know the correct word but in dutch it's "beeldbuis") is only fabricated by 2 or 3 company's. The others just use the ones of them and put their own software etc on it.

led tv imo
get a samsung and everything will be all right
Samsung is amazing for LCD (as are Sony).

LG for pioneering technology (OLED)

Panasonic for PLASMA.
It's a hard choice nowadays, so many options ^^
Don't go for a Plasma if you want to play console games with the TV, otherwise the plasma might get branned by e.g. speedometer. If you only want to watch some TV go for a Plasma :O).
It can still happen if you leave the same image on the screen for a very long time, but they are much better than they used to be.

Unless it's some Le Mans 24 hour race, i can't see it being an issue.
