I'm sad to announce that a few hours before the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver, Nodar Kumaritaschwili, a Georgian rodler died after loosing the controle of his sledge


most of you wont care i guess....but its just horrible to lose your life in this way imo :x

I actually ran it in slo-mo yesterday to try and figure out what happened and it wasn't pretty, you can kinda see his arm flailing a bit coming out of the fatal turn and he spun sharply out of control

Apparently news just came in that the olympic committee felt there was nothing wrong with the track =/ I, for one, think those steel poles are the real problem and they pose a huge danger considering their location beside the exit of one of the toughest turns on that course.

It is indeed horrible that these things happen, but it's the risk you take doing this sport. At least he died doing the thing he loved the most, I wish that was for more people to say ;)
