<3 PB <3

I recently got a new pc, and with my former computer I used to have no pb lag at all. But nowadays it's totally different; my screen freezes every 3-5 seconds and sometimes even the sounds get choppy / laggy.
My former CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ (no pblag)
Current: Intel Pentium IV 3,0 GHz

Neither of those CPUs are dual-core, the Intel one is just a bit faster. The difference shouldn't be that big between them, right? So what _is_ causing my pblag? I have the same config, same ISP.. :/ Could it be so that only the Intel processors have pblag?
I've got no problems on no-pb servers.

Please tell me your CPU specifications if you have no pblag at all.

EDIT: the deal may sound stupid but I got a new 19" LCD screen + comp almost for free. I'm also planning to buy new dualcore cpu + motherboard (ddr2 preferred), so if you've got some good (price & qualitywise) recommendations, please do share them.

I bought new pc wihth quadcore and windows 7, I almost have no lags at all now.

I play on XP on non pb servers, I dont have lags at all.

try giving et higher priority to "higher than normal" for me it helps a bit. ( btw replacing 2600+ with pentium IV is kinda wasted money, since good dualcores have become quite cheap - since u had to buy a new motherboard too for the pentium.)

I have no lag at all.. then again i've not really played much in the past year so i don't know if i still wouldnt be lagging..

Did you try to play with no-pb config, then with rcon active it again, and n'joy the freeze every 2 sec :DDD

Intel E8400, lag all the time on pb servers. Way better on nonpb. Tried everything, didn't help..

Just play on nopb servers like everyone else :p
