Does somebody know a blu ray dvd player with an usb slot that can play every kind of known format like mpeg xvid mvk etc. ?

The known brands seem to fail at playing mvks files ! So maybe some noname shit ?
Help is appreciated D:

ofc a playstation3 is able to read burned BD/ HD DVD etc

It only depends on the file-format (container) you are using. Unfortunatly Playstation3 Consoles in some cases are not able to play mkv-filesfluently (even with x264 codec). But they can be easily rendered to mp4 or VOB. But in generall you won't find ANY BD-Player wich will play mkv-files at once! (exoect PS3) The PlayStation3 got the advantage, having 120 GB iternal HDD (Slim-Version). Incl USB Support, you can upload movies on your PlayStation3.

But you need to convert mkv for every player, unfortunatly....

they do play mkv files, but you can't rewind/FF/pause etc..

alot of mkv got refused by my PS3. So i fixed it in my text abit. But the PS3 is not playing mkv at once fluently in most of the cases...in my eyes

Get the program gotsent, it encodes really fast and at no loss to quality...
Parent
thats bullshit i have a PS3 and they play next to no mkv files that are 1080p
Parent
it's not bullshit, get updates, knowledge, user skills before you post such arse.
Parent
It is bullshit you have to recode it from its native mkv, i have all the updates and a shit load of knowledge on this subject you have to remux it to m2ts because the ps3 console does not support the MKV / Matroska container, but it will support much of the audio and video that can be stored in the MKV container

Also since it only supports fat32 its impossible to get a HD movie onto the PS3 without either streaming it to the player or having the player copy from an external network attached dnla drive.
Parent
ok, so I really feel the need to lie, because it makes me feel better.....and yes, streaming is an option. Fact is, and I'll say it again, I get almost every mkv to play on my ps3 albeit with no control over the video. Which is why I use gotsent.
Parent
yes but not by simply plugging in a USB stick with the movie on because thats just not possible it takes a lot more effort than that
Parent
can't work out for the life of me where I wrote that about USB stuff..
My original comment

but whatever, I'll just humour your so obviously argumentative attitude toward the subject :D

Now tell me how you get those 4gb movies to your USB stick. Exactly, it's not possible.

The best solution for watching BD-rips with your PS3 is to get PS3 Media Server and stream the movies directly from your PC. It requires only a RJ45 cable and PS3 Media Server software which can be downloaded here

So basically you need to get an ethernet switch and get your PC and PS3 in the same network. Though, I sugges getting a 1GB switch if your PC has a 1GB ethernet card, because in some cases 100mb isn't enough for high bitrate movies. It's also recommended if you're willing to play 1080p movies fluently.

I get these 4+GB movies on my USB-Stick, while im using Windows. :o The USB-Stick is formatted in NTFS and not FAT32. SO the Stick can handle 4GB-files or more.

EASY LIKE THAT ;)

you have to wait till summer though ;d, you will also be able to watch in 3D !;D
I use my old xbox with xbmc :)
Plays all video formats :P
Popcorn Hour C-200 with Blu Ray Drive is exactly what you need

I have the older model A110 and it plays all formats, the new model is more powerful and can have a blu ray drive in it.
hmm ive got a panasonic bluray and a playon!HD media streamer. i dont know if the panasonic can play mkv on the usb i doubt it really. i heard if you want a bluray you have to wait theyre bringing out a new generation that can play more things like that, or just get a popcorn or another mediastreamer with hdd space, they're cheap and work perfect.
