There should be a filter list for journals. Not per topic but such as "Receive journals only from friends" or something. Then it makes the buddylist more useful aswell, imo.
Rating system wouldn't be so good here. For 2 reasons:
1. People would be too lazy, they just wanna flame / write something silly in a response
2. If you're unknown, or post something old or w/e, people (if they can be bothered at all) would rate 1 star just out of spite.
If there are people who don't wanna see crappy journals, they should be given the choice to control what they read (to a certain extent) by adding / removing people to their buddylist and being able to tick a box in filters saying "Journals from only friends" or something.
