Cant go to LAN

Well, sorry to say this guys. I've now known I was going to LAN since way before Xmas I just never thought about getting a passport. Seems very silly of me because you need a passport to go from the UK to Holland. So end of January i thought 7 weeks would be long enough to send off for my first ever passport. Seems they Didnt send me the passport thing to the correct address so i havent got a passport now.

I could get one if i actually tried BUT I am not going to bother even though i paid for my sleeping place, entre fee + flights. Seems reasonable.

See you all @ LAN if i get off my arse to get a passport.

I've read your journal and I really feel sorry for you since it simply ain't fair from the government.

same here man, just went to get passport last week, now i lost it while looking at your journal, it will take 2 weeks for me to get a new passport so i cant go to lan soz

hope im allowed to paly lan at home (i have LAN Connection so its lan aswell hehe)

in normal countries, you just take a pic, go to the city hall and tadaa, passport's ready :)

kinda strange that those things only happen to people who shoot 75 acc and +100 hs every map

(This could actually be an interesting problem for me - my Passport is currently with the Indian High Commission in London waiting for them to approve my Visa. It *should* be back by the 3rd... but if it's not I'm kinda fucked.)

Well, it's meant to take 7 working days, and I sent it off on Friday morning last week, so in theory it should be back by the 2nd. If I've not got it on the 3rd I'm going to have to rebook my outbound flight and travel onf the 4th or the morning of the 5th I guess. Seriously hope that doesn't happen though.

I always pay for one of the agencies to sort indian visas as they go and sit at the commision for you and get it back quicker - just a tip for next time

I'm doing that - it's being organised through my work's travel people, but it still takes up to 7 days to process.

I did the same thing for my Chinese visa a couple of years back (although that required my secretary who, fortunately, is Chinese, to yell at the embassy staff in Mandarin for ten minutes when they phoned her to say they were going to refuse the visa).

You need either your passport or ID. Brits don't (yet) have a national ID card, we only have passports. I can't wait for us to have ID cards rolled out, but for some insane reason there seems to be a fair bit of resistance to them.

No, only when overseas (and even then a photocopy is normally ok, can leave the passport at the hotel - except then you can't easily prove ID for drinks &c.).

Potty just go to a main post office and get the docs checked there - they gaurentee a short turnaround if you pay a little more
