after years playing w/o a mat but just on a wooden desk, i wanna start playing with a mat.

Any advice for a good smooth mat for the MX518 with a max.budget of €30?

everglide titan (dunno if they are still selling it) or QcK (normal, heavy, plus..) totally depends how much space you need. In my opinion best choice for mx518 + both are kinda cheap

Don't get Qpad CT because they wear off quickly. Some cloth mat will do just fine.

I cut out a 40x45 picece of my old desk, best mousepad^:p

Anyway i tested lot of pads in the past but i hated all. Dont by cloth pad!!!

how much space d'ya get there? from some of the pics and vids i seen it looks a little hard to fit some of the bigger mousepads in your space :p

You cant really do precision shots and micro adjustments on cloth, frictionwise hard pads way better. The major draw back is that you have to change the mousefeet.

That is just wrong. If anything the "added" friction of a cloth mat would make "micro-adjustments" easier.

QPAD is indeed bad. Well, it's great for about a week but then it will never feel the same again.

A slab of wood is simply not "better" than a good cloth pad, period.

what? thats the actual main reason of "cloth pads" so that you can make micro adjustments with the added friction your misleading people by saying the opposite. Basically you like pads with less friction but alot dont and prefer fricition to make micro adjustments.

depends on which pads you test. But ofcourse its going to be faster most of the time, its more like an icemat than a clothpad. But its not even close to the stability or accuracy of a clothpad.
