Problems with ET in Win7?

Set compatibility mode "Windows XP SP2" and "Run as Administrator"
Right click -> Properties -> Compatibility

 in this files:
  • PnkBstrA.exe -> C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrA.exe
  • PnkBstrB.exe -> C:\Windows\System32\PnkBstrB.exe
  • PnkBstrB.exe -> C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\ET\pb\PnkBstrB.exe
  • ET.exe -> You know where -> Additionally disable all visual effects ( thx seren1ty )

"Missing/Corrupted Windows API Function" PB Kick?

Go to:
  • Start -> Run -> "services.msc"
  • Find "Application Information" -> Right click -> Properties
  • Set "Startup type" to "Automatic"
  • If it's not started then click on "START"


For me it's working.

Give PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB (windows\system32\Logfiles) explicit access in your firewall settings same as ET itself.
Dependent from which anti-virus you are using, you might do the same there.
Also try to disable visual effects (right mouse on ET, properties, compatibility).

Yea I messed with my services and pb constantly kicked me, till I done a windows repair and it stopped, there are lessons to be learned here :>

and btw: everything you said is also "true" for win vista and XP.
