Seems like I have all the right reasons to dodge the upcoming lan :
- Forgot my accelfix.exe, windows mouse settings and mouse drivers at home, although I can easily download the first and the last it still is annoying.
- The week after the lan it's "party-week" here in Gent where I study, and the week after that I have a schooltrip to London, both will cost me loads of money.
- At my last lan I wasted around 600 eur so my parents didn't want me to ever visit one again, they don't know I'm going this time and if they find out I'm quite dead. ( My excuse is that I'm staying at university over the weekend to study. )
- Yesterday I got sued by the fraternity house of one of my friends because I appearantly ruined a pooltable by spilling beer on it. They claim they have me on camera but we think it's a bluff seeing there are no cameras in the poolroom. They want me to reimburse the entire pooltable. The price might varie between 300 and 1300 euro, depending on how expensive the pooltable was and depending on how guilty the judge thinks I am.
- And last, this weekend a friend of mine is giving a birthday party and she hates me for not going, at the moment the least of my problems lol.
But o yeah, I'm stil going to the lan although my life is close to hitting rock-bottom, appreciate me now thank you.

HF @ LAN anyway
die hard man :D
Vorige lan was dat allemaal de schuld van die kuraigu en die vila die persé wouden uitgaan in het lan centrum zelf, verdeed op de eerste avond net geen 200 euro -_-
I didn't spil beer on the pooltable, atleast I don't remember it, that's why we think they are trying to bluff us.
This lan was arranged for me in december, that friend invited me 3 ( or so ) weeks ago so how can I help that?
And it's not my fault neither that my school organises a schooltrip after the lan, nor that I'll be forced by some friends to go out next week.
Pls think before you make stupid statements.
4. If you didn't feel any guilt or self-doubt and you're so sure that you weren't the one who spilled the beer then why mention this? Unless they have sufficient evidence they cannot find you guilty of said charges.
5. You probably didn't give her an adequate enough excuse for missing her party, and besides, if she was a real friend, she wouldn't really "hate" you for missing a birthday party.
/sigh.
Yes you are right, I don't have to go out next week if I don't want to but I can't ignore them for 4 days straight, would probably create some tension between us seeing next week "is the place to be" in Gent. And the system with scholarship is different here, you don't get because you excell in something, you usually get one when you can prove your parents are too poor for paying for it. In the usa it's something like " We help our best" while in Belgium it's more like "We give everyone an equal chance". You ofcourse couldn't know this.
I'm quite sure I didn't spil the beer but being sued for 1300 eur isn't that fun as it sounds, if they have enough circumstancial evidence I could be found guilty aswell, even without the camera footage. ( Me and my friend had been using that pool table but we both don't remember us spilling drinks, still they can connect us to the specific pooltable on the night it got damaged )
And about the last one you are probably right, I just told her I couldn't go since I had to go to holland for a gaming tourney, she probably doesn't get what all the fuzz is about.
I'm not flaming you btw, you actualy gave some decent argumentation.
Actually, we have scholarships for those who excel academically and we have financial aid for those who come from low-income families, so it's pretty much the same.
To indict someone in a court of law you need to prove that they are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...this will be up to your lawyer I suppose.
I'm not really taking any of this seriously but others might have doubts on whether or not you're flaming based on the above statement.
Anyway, off to bed...I'll address any further remarks tomorrow if needed. :)
dont always think the worst of people :p
