Wierd sound while playing ET

So the problem is that whenever I start my ET, my headphones make this weird click-sound which seems to bug or something like that my ET sounds.
Menu sounds for example, are kinda low quality and when running around in the map or when I'm standing still and someone else is running near me...this strange blank sound or a sound similar to when your TV is on white screen.
I remember having this problem some time before but I can't really remember what I did to fix it. Think the solution was fairly simple. Might had to do something with right-clicking ET icon and changing some options under properties. Btw the whatever it is happened after I used 3.0.1 ventrilo. Any help would be much appreciated!
