which music maker/mixer?

in case of my pure boreness in the army after my work i'd like to play a lil with music and perhaps creating a new track.

is it possible to do that with only one program on the laptop?
which program should i use?
what about virtual dj?

Fruity Loops lets you make a track from nothing but it takes time to produce stuff which isn't shit. Though since you're in the army you prolly have the required time ;)
kk, i'm dling it, thanks :)

is it hard to understand and get in the program, or is it pretty simple?

Hmm would defo be easier if someone gave you the basics by showing you how to use the step sequencer, playlist etc but it's kinda user friendly so I guess you'll do fine if you don't give up after 2 hours. One tip from me: open some tracks made by pros(would recommend Pilchard but all of them are fine lads) and use them to get to know what exact things are doing (like switch some effects on and off to see how they change the sound etc) its a good way to know them tricks quickly ;) Have fun

it will take u one or more years to learn it

i just dont get this thing over 5seconds on the playlist. each 5seconds it begins from the beginning and i cant large the playlist :/

fruity loops doesen't take any time at all.

I suggest you to download Reason, you can even master your tracks there, it has unlimited possibilities to learn and etc. Fruity is for either oldschoolers who haven't got over it or noobosdoobos.

It depends on what you are wanting to do, if you want to just mix music use VDJ or Traktor.

If you want to produce, if you are a total beginner FL is the quickest thing to pick up but you are pretty limited to some of the things it can produce, but thats a good starting point. Once youve got better at it, ableton or logic is the way to go but its pretty complex :p
fl has no limits believe me :)
Parent
i might have used limit as a wrong word then :P but its hard to achieve the sound you want to achieve and sometimes sounds.. not the best D: i liked fl for its very easy to use sequencing and layering but thats as far as it went for me :P

other DAW's rewired into ableton is win for me ;)
Parent
whats difference between using same vst in fl or vst in other soft ? :D
Parent
I was kinda heading towards the sounds/effects from the DAW and not the vst :P Using the same vst will get you the same sound, but when you add your filters and effects from different DAW's that changes it quite alot ;)
Parent
no, no and just no :)
Parent
yes, yes and yes! :P
