Widescreen laptop

So my friend has a laptop with a widescreen (like most laptops i guess), but he wants to play with 1024*768. Right now this reso gets adjusted to the widescreen but it's not working all too well.

On lan I saw dignitas play with this resolution while it didn't get stretched, so they had black borders on the side but the same dimensions as on a (smaller) non-wide screen.

Question is: How can my friend do this on his widescreen laptop? Just customwidth and customheight?

u sure about the r_fullscreen? he gets a small screen instead of one with black borders

well if he is using 1024*768 on the laptop, he has to put the ET one at 1000*750 or smth, try with r_fullscreen 1, it happened to me at lan aswell, think it was =1

nah, his desktop is widescreen i think, can he change that?

nope, if its widescreen he is prolly using 1400*900

1600*900 appearantly, but what should he do with his ET resolution/settings to get them somewhat normal? Right now he is playing with r_mode 6 but even with those commands he gets ET on the entire screen

er is een setting in beeldscherm waarbij je widescreen uit kan zetten

no idea, when i connect my alienware to my 22" screen i get automaticly the black bars on the side but when i lower my ress on my laptop it doesnt work
