why not the 5870 and a 600W psu to be safe?
500 is more than enough.
Parent
alot of money for a PC and there is no SSD included... dont you want performance for that price ?
Spend the money on something useful instead, fucking nerd.
Enjoying your ban?

Enjoying being a nerd? :)

i'd take 600w to be completely safe idd, at least if you're gonna overclock the cpu
SSD = no more loading.
you dont need the best i7 (you dont even need any kind of i7). thats wasted money as CPUs are way ahead of gaming needs these days.
SSD on the other hand is an overall improvement. even if you "only" spend around 250€ on it and "only" install your O/S and your primary games on it.
Finally something something I can agree with you.
Parent
do we argue alot?
Parent
I have ignored you since you act like an ass every time someone doesn't agree with you and shows it. =/
Parent
Why do you want this power PC?
I want to play old DOS games with the best possible performance :3

lets spend 200 euros on a mainboard! yea! and an i7!! wich i will only need in 5 years, amd phenoms are awesome too and -100 euros lets spend 90euro on a case, yeah! 90 for a fucking cd player

-_-
ye lets go to a club and pay 10euro for a single drink ! yea! and dont forget about the entrance-fee ! yea ! .. buy drugs and cigz for lots of cash! yea

and well iam playin lots of AION , doin some photshop related things , terragen stuff , netbeans / sql related stuff and sometime i want to do all at once ... ofc i could buy cheaper components and still get proper performance ... buuuut iam using lowend notebooks for way too long now and i want some p0wEr now !
Parent
i dont do those stuff, or not so much wich you named anyway :D

i mean you could save alot of money, amd's phenom processors are rly rly good too, and why would you need a blue ray driver?
Parent
You can get good enough pc for your purpouses for under 1000 euro. i7 is only good if you want to run some useless marks and get score which is 15 better than your friends.
Parent
Fail
Way to expensive. can get same setup for 1038 including shipping

Btw:

i7 860
random gigabyte p55
4-8Gb ram
5870

You want 3 or 6 Gb of ram for processor equipped with a 3-channel memory controller. =/
Parent
ehm what?

i7 920/X58 uses triple channel
i7 860/P55 uses double channel...
Parent
I thought you meant 4-8gb for 920. Nvm, my bad.
Parent
You don't /really/ need an i7, there is nothing you will do that will utilize all 8 threads... You're better off with an i5 if you wish to go Intel... yes I mention the slightly less powerful AMD here, the 955BE when paired with a good cooler overclocks just as well and provides more than enough power when paired with a proper video card (ie. 5850 or higher) so really grab the i5-750, Corsair H50, solid motherboard, RAM, HD5850 or HD5870 if you find the budget for it or get a 955BE, Corsair H50 again (awesome CPU cooler), solid motherboard (theres some good ones with USB 3.0 and SATA 6gb/s out there for pretty cheap), RAM and again the video card advice
Mugen 2 is also a good cooler and costs way less. Altough H50 is simplier to install.
Parent
hmm never really heard of it, but seems to be pretty good so far... I've got my Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, runs alright for a cheaper cooler as well, less overclocking headroom though >.<
Parent
wasted money on i7

get a ssd instead
You'll do just fine with the regular CM 690 and that is a ripoff price for the graphics card.
useless i7 is useless
the hd5850 usually costs around 220€ lulz
i wish you good luck at getting that HD5850
