downloaded films -> tv

I was wondering what the cheapest solution could be to watch my downloaded movies, series (HD quality) on my tv. I don't have a laptop atm..

I've searched abit and I could just buy a cheap but decent laptop and share my folders on my pc to the laptop and then watch them like that but that sounds a bit expensive tbh..

I know that there is somekind of WT Digital box (i don't know the exact name anymore) and with that I can share my folders over the netwerk and watch my movies on tv.. but the problem is that I don't have an internet plug-in at the place where my tv is located. so it has to work wireless..

any ideas? remember: wireless & HD-quality

Grtz

Heeft gewoon een HDMI poort om High Definition films mee te kijken (ondersteunt tot 1080p)
Dat ding kan inderdaad gewoon ALLES :P

old xbox + xbox media center = win :))))
HD videos work on Xbox? :o
Parent
It's fine till 1080i if I remember right.
Parent
yeah , i use that too :)
Shame its not fully functional though
Parent
you don't need an old Xbox to run xmbc ;) any old PC would do although you would have some problems with HD movies :)
Parent
hdmi cable if your graphic card supports it ofc

EDIT: but it's not wireless xD
My TV can play movies right of a USB stick :) makes it pretty easy but if your tv cant then that also sounds expensive :P
Wireless?

There is absolutely NO cheap DECENT solution to get wireless signal, not to mention wireless HD signal.

Prepare to pay 200+ euros.
mjah I think I'm gonna let the electrician come by and let him pull a cable from the router to the tv-room.. and then buy somekind of HDD that I can connect with my tv
Parent
you need an electrician for that? good job
Parent
jup, I don't want to make holes in my walls and paint them over again since that proll will be nessacary
Parent
why the hell do you need to do holes in your walls, are you that afraid of seing a cable on a daily basis?
Parent
jezus. my router is on the 2nd floor and my tv on the 1st floor. I'm not gonna put a cable on the fucking stairs
Parent
why not
it's cheaper than paying an electrician to drill holes in your walls
Parent
I prefer quality and my parents would pay it :) and they don't like to have a cable lying on the stairs.. damn your house must be a fucking mess :D
Parent
a zdej se še zajebavat ne smem al kaj? -_-
Parent
gdo si ti. sploh nism vedu da si slovenc :D
Parent
Yes, much cheaper to do it with wires.

Some DVD-players and digiboxes and stuff support LAN so you can stream the movies through that.

Wireless consumer video technology is quite new so it's quite expensive too. It'll get cheaper in a few years but I bet you can't wait.
Parent
I'll check it out!
Parent
then get an xbox (no 2nd hand one, cause most of those are banned)
Parent
That's illegal ,sorry.
depends on tv, but many modern tvs can be connected with pc (vga) by cable and then just set it as secondary screen or smth.
