What about a nations-backup-plan?

As most of us know, the NetherlandsNL vs EstoniaEE match was cancelled due to lack of players on the NL side. EE didn't want to rescheduel and NL was to busy playing the evucup. Maybe it is a good idea to get some sort of backup player squad available, in case this happens? I don't really know how yet, but we could make some sort of 2nd squad "clan" at crossfire in wich players are free to put there names in, in case there is a forfeit-situation. Just all players who want to play in this situation can add their names in that CF clan from that particular nation. In case there are more people willing to fight for their country (which will happen ofcourse), there could be like 1 person who you can pm. Something like the first 5 pm's to that person will make the 2nd squad for that day. Or in case 2 (1st squad) players play, the first 3 pm's. It's obvious that the squad has players from in this case (Netherlands). No exceptions made.

In this way, people can fight for their own country too once in a while :)

I hope you guys understand what i am trying to say here :D

edit: (this plan needs more idea's about how to make that 2nd squad, so if you have an idea feel free to post them :D)

I don't think that a mix would be a challenge for the Estonian team anyway.

And besides, if I would be an Estonian, I wouldn't want to waste my time (considering they are all serious business type players) playing versus a mix.

That's not the point. The point is that players can play vs higher skilled people from other countries and having fun in playing for their own country.

Besides. If i were an Estonian and i would play in the Nationscup, I would rather play against "nonamers" than don't play at all! Plus i think a good player would give them a chance.

nu niet nee, maar als je 4 actieve backups hebt die er ook daadwerkelijk wat voor willen doen wel..

(ze hadden prolly wel kunnen spelen met joop,ati, ins, joof, hayaa..)

No of course not :) But that's not the point. The point is having an opportunity like you have :>... I doubt it.. but maybe some unknown players will get some attention by fragging the hell out of some estonians (in this matter) :)

The main point will be having fun playing for your own country! I would be very honoured. And like i said... everything better than forfeit right? :)

The whole point of NC is getting the best players of your country to play against eachother, just don't like the idea of getting unkowns or semi-good players to represent their own Nation. Players need to first proof themselves to participate in their own nation tbh

I totally know what you mean Ati! And you are completly right :> But don't you agree it is a waste to forfeit? I mean... i'm sure if you could play, you would play :)

edit: Plus when like 3 known players play..with 2 nonamers... there still might be a slightest chance :)

If they need me to play and I'm able too, ofcourse. But seeing your nation loose with a 'unknown' lineup or receive a forfeit, dunno whats worse ;d I think the NL supporters would think the same. I wouldn't like to see my nation getting represented by some 'unkowns' and finally get beatin by the best players of the other nation :/ Think ClanBase and Evu.cup should've been more supportive in this situation.

They probably had to be yeah... But idk why seeing an unknown lineup would be worse then giving a forfeit? I mean... forfeit is boring + you lose anyway. I think it is much more fun for everyone if a "nonamer" squad plays. There will be many clans seeing their members play in this match which will result in much laughter and fail video's :D. And maybe you will see some newschooler own the heck out of the other team which will result in a lot of spam on crossfire and stuff to talk about :>

Nation cup is like worldcup in football, you can allow lower players during groupstage but at playoff you shouldnt do that because the point is that you want to win not just having fun. Means you need the best possible team

B team would be weaker than A team with 2 mercs

That's a bad argument imo. Teams in football don't ever forfeit. So that is way different.
