movie with other audio

hey there, how can i play a .mkv file (in media player classic or VLC) and add some other .ac3 or .dts file as audio?

normally i have in vlc: audio -> choose audio -> english/russia

but now i also have a german.ac3 file or .dts file.. how can i add that one?

in vlc or media player classic.

well they use an external tool to redo the whole .mkv file with the .ac3 file. I hoped for an easy solution within the player. like choosing the audio file i wanna use on my own and disable the original one or smth like that.

open vlc
try media > advanced open file.
Under more options there should be a box 'play another media'

try adding the ac3 file through that :)

hmm im not sure then, make a copy of your mkv file and try phaloid's solution :D

you can do it with megui, using the .mkv muxer, it takes only few seconds :)

e: or not if stormeh solution works :D

but it will change the .mkv file?

cause i have all the movies on some external hdd which only contains torrents. if the .mkv file changes i wouldnt be able to see it anymore.

you gonna have a copy of the mkv file, the original one will not be modified

haha thats a strange solution :D

cause .dts and .ac3 files sync with the movie i think.. so that would be way better to have it in the same player and to skip the boring parts in a movie :(
