#4 is defending pretty badly, goalkeeper is doing huge positioning mistake (he is nearly standing right next to the right post), torres shot is pretty good but in this case it's about 80% luck, maybe the other defender even deflected the ball a little bit, but i cant see it clearly
overall it's a nice goal which consists out of bad defending,big mistakes, luck and skill. such goals happen nearly every week
absolutelly not, there was no need to stay so close to the left post when there are 4or 5 players near that area, so torres physically couldnt even shoot in that corner+there were enoguh defenders if he'd passed or crossed to the left post.though i dont give the keeper any fault, it was surely a nice shot with alot of luck..still a nice goal..but nothing extraordinary
Tell me where the goalkeeper should have been, if there is no need to be so close to the left post and he is making a huge mistake by standing next to the right post according to you.
he should have been in the middle of the goal,~on the same height as ryan babel so he could catch up the ball in the air if torres was going to cross the ball into the middle to babel.also he would have had a better chanceif he stayed on the line when torres was crossing to babel and he was heading. and ofcourse he could have been able to catch that torres shot if he was standing ~in the middle.but taht doesnt say he would automatically catched the ball, but teh chances were higher
the goalkeeper should have been a little more over to his left hand side (our right), like a yard if youre going to be picky, but nothing that would have changed the outcome of the shot... its one of those shots no goalkeeper in the world would have saved, apart from grobbelaar obviously... nothing to do with how good or bad the goalkeepers positioning was... and yeh, i am a goalkeeper!
well that's what i said, it surely was a great shot etc but still the gk is not perfect..maybe he could have been able to catch the ball if he was 1m or smthng more over to the right, maybe not. but your right, in the end it doesnt matter how the gk stood, it wasnt even my point. what i said is, that it was a nice goal, no doubt, but it is built upon lots of luck and still it is nothing the world hasnt seen before. nice goal-yes, OMFG TORRES OLOLO GOLGOL LOlLlLAmAzINg - no
