Building new pc NEED HELP!!!

Hi guys, im building new pc for this summer. So Im in need of your opinions, because I cant decide between specs :(

1) For CPU i am thinking about i7-930(1366 so said best socket) or i7-860(1156 latest socket) Cant decide coz they are both said to be really good.

2)What GPU? im thinking what to buy: XFX/Sapphire Radeon HD5850 1024MB 2 Cards CrossFire OR XFX/Sapphire Radeon HD5970 w/o CrossFire? Both prices are kinda same like 10 euro difference. Im really confused.

3) Would be good if someone could recomend me good pc case

will morning wood suffice?

1) If you're only going to use it for gaming, go for a Core i3 540, as you won't need more than 2 cores

2) dno

3) Antec Three Hundred
there are some games that already using 4 cores
Parent
give
me
a
fucking
break

arca is right
Parent
no he's not, there are a lot of new games which take advance of quadcore cpus. that's the reason why the Q6600 is better for new games than the E8400 for example.
Parent
For most games that are played nowadays the E8000-series are the best. But buying a 2-core system now is just silly if it's for playing modern and upcoming games. Four cores also speed up the desktop working and programs such as winrar so there really is no point in buying "old" technology.
Parent
Plz...

Play for example BFBC2 with e8600 and after that with some random Quad Core ;).
Dual core will get raped.

Multi core is the future....
Parent
Read my comment again and then delete yours! ;)

e: And please... there are a lot of games beyond *hypehype* bfbc2 which are vastly played e.g. CoD4 and MW2 and someone might buy a new PC just to play CS:S in which E8500 is much better choice than Q6600.

nvidia>>>>>>>>>>ati
wat? ati sux omfg!!!!
Parent
No! Ati > Nvidia ! :D
Parent
AMD + ATI
INTEL + GEFORCE/NVIDIA
Parent
Lol INTEL + ATI fits perfect as well
Parent
No.

ATI will run better on AMD and nVidia better on INTEL.

:-)
Parent
AMD + NVIDIA
INTEL + NVIDIA

:D
Parent
AMD = Nvidia = Uber FAIL!
Parent
Can you give reasons for your view?
Parent
how much it costs at u?
Parent
dont know, too much for me
Parent
450 euro here kinda a bit cheaper than 2x 5850
Parent
Check my comment below.
Parent
got me one of those badboys aswell :D
Parent
no you wish i got it :)
Parent
I wish that I can have it ;:D
Parent
powns and it's not that much more then for example a 5870
Parent
I feel sorry for you. :(
Parent
That card is a freaking barbeque grill. Costs insane amount of money about as much as the HD 5970 and has slightly more performance than the HD 5870. It also overheats during heavy duty processing without any modifications. And it's made with old manufacturing techique. The GTX 200-series were somewhat good cards. The new ones are just utter crap compared to the competitor.
Parent
ok. i have no idea about computerstuff im a noob in it

sucks man, really sucks
Parent
prolly would get dual gtx 280 for same price
Parent
yes i also think so
Parent
u can always change it :)
Parent
better change it to 5850 or 480 nvidia
Parent
Better toss GTX480 to the nearest sea or glacier.
Parent
as skeit said 6GB DDR3 1066MHz (3 x 2GB DIMMs)

Im getting 6GB DDR3 1600mhz

Edit:

Intel CoreTM i7-965 Extreme Edition (3.2GHz, 8MB Shared Cache)

Why would u need that? Its fucking waste of euros. You can always OC the i7-930 to even better clock
good for u :)
Parent
Since 6 cores came out at markets 4 cores CPUs should price down
i7 860 (@ 2,8ghz) costs like max 250 euros. I have it atm @ 4 Ghz and works fine (max temps @ all 4 cores ~75 celcius) and it rolls ~10 secs @ superpi1m. So why pay extra for sum better cores since this shit gets better scores than those 500$ i7's

Parent
just got my pc :3

i7 920 + 3x2gb corsair 1600mhz + hd5870 as there was no fkin hd5850 avi on the market

my cpu didnt reach 20% useage yet ... feels good man
went to our local overclock store and got 5870 @ same day :)
Parent
well wasted 420 eu instead of the planed 240 eu for the gfxcard :[
Parent
370 e for me and its just killin' everything <3 waiting to get better drivers where clocks are not limited to 900/1300 :x and when i need more power (maybe next year) i just buy second 5870 with ~250 euros. =)
Parent
well i guess i need a new case for 2x 5870 ....i didnt own a desktop pc for like 5 years now ... always using notebooks.. the last card i put in my old pc was a ati 9600pro so ye i was fkin suprised how huge the gfxcard is ... its HUUUGE :3
Parent
yeah thats true :D i have Define R2 Titanium case (207.4 x 440 x 521.2mm) and Hdd spaces are like 1,5 cm away from getting contact with my 5870 :P and the scary bit is that 5970 is even longer :D
Parent
u need full tower for 5970
Parent
yap or case where hdd's are placed little different- than normal : d
Parent
The Radeon HD 5970 has two HD 5870 GPUs and therefore beats HD 5850 CrossFire hands down. I you want to have two separate graphics cards in CF I suggest you buy LGA1366 because those motherboards have support for two 16x PCI-e slots running full speed. Altough crossfire with 8x PCI-e just has ~5% drop in performance. Personally I would go for the LGA1156 an buy either the HD 5970 or HD 5870.
actually its 2x5850 (comparing the clocks etc) but yeah fastest shit e:_ONTHE_ market =)

e: muropaketin sanoin; "ATI Radeon HD 5970:n käyttämät Cypress-grafiikkapiirit sisältävät saman määrän Stream-prosessoreita kuin ATI Radeon HD 5870 -mallissa, mutta kellotaajuudet vastaavat 5850-mallia. Suorituskyky ei siis vastaa täysin kahta ATI Radeon HD 5870 -näytönohjainta CrossFireX-konfiguraatiossa, joten AMD varmisti ettei kuluttajia johdeta harhaan 5870 X2 -mallinimellä."
Parent
Too bad I was hasty and bought a second hand 4870 x2. The noise is overwhelming when booting or playing e.g. MW2. A 5870 would've been perfect but they were so hard to get at the time. :(
Parent
just walked to jimmspc and got 5870 right away :D lucky number slevin
Parent
SCHEISSO? DEM GIBT ES NUR EINMAL!
1. i7 930 1366.
2. would recommend XFX/Sapphire Radeon HD5850 1024MB 2 Cards CrossFire then HD 5970.
both together work faster then one card which is a bit better.Et is just supporting 1 gcard but the 5850 is fast enough anyways.
3. like peter pan said, random case with fans. try to get one which is a little big larger then needed cause of heat etc. ;)
Go for the 920 over the 930, the 930 is more expensive and the only difference is the multiplier that you probably won't use anyway.

Graphics i'd go for a 5870 if I could afford it, wouldn't bother with the 5970 its just overkill and the 5870 will run everything you want at highest settings, then if you want you can crossfire later on.

Case i'd go for the Coolermaster CM-690 II, it has side mounted HD's, vents in the bottom to add fans, and lots of space for big coolers and long graphics cards, I went for the Antec 902 and it lacks some of those things. Do not skimp on your case either, you will probably be overclocking and if you buy a shit case your airflow will suck and you'll have hightemps.
1. i5 750 for gaming, don't waste your money on a top end quad core i7.
2. XFX Radeon HD 5970 shits all over x2 5850's and is also is less hungry for fuel.
3. Full Tower: Silverstone rv02 Mid Tower: CoolerMaster StormScout(My Case) or Antec 902
