'Collateral Murder'

5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff.

Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded.

The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured.

After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own "Rules of Engagement".

One of the most sickening things I've ever seen.

It's sick, the strange thing is that the youtube views don't change..
they update with a delay as always
Parent
it has the same viewers as some hours ago, that's unusual for youtube

Perhaps US military made some deal with google to not update the amount of viewers so it will not reach front pages etc.

Ye, white light, one of the sickening things i've ever seen :(

wtf this is so insane
call of duty is fabulous game : )
old, been posted
how funny would it be if Iraq wanted to sue several amerikans for war crimes, but well most just don't notice (or don't want to) but WW3 is going on and this time it's Amerika that forms the attacking force and not Germany.
as usual youtube is supressing the view count so its seen by less people. They did this with 9/11 stuff too..

just look almost 4000 ratings and just 400 views lol, guess they forgot to adjust accordingly
and guess who is behind this, fucking Google Inc.

ok, so the flipside of this sick shit is why were two photographers from reuters newspaper group walking quite merrily with at least 3 iraqi's clearly carrying an rpg and 2 ak's? in a zone obviously being daily patrolled by U.S gunships? you see the two photographers being pointed out with their camera gear, and its so obviously not weapons, but these trigger happy cunts couldnt give a shit when they see the real weapons walking beside them...but i think you need to put some blame at the guys from reuters not having the fucking sense to realise how dumb they were being.

modern warfare, and the way everythings recorded now. think of what REALLY sick shit would have been filmed if they had cameras like we have today back in world war 2... would have made this look like bambi. it easy to sit at home passing judgement on stuff like this, but its rather different if you saw 3 armed guys walking towards a group of your mates and you had a way to stop them.

awfull stuff. awfull, senseless war. never should have been there in the first place. get all troops home, now.
Agreed, war is sickening because these things tend to happen. Those journalists should have known they were playing with their life. They didn't need to shoot at the van, but in a war you can not wait to strike when you risk being striked at first( rpg leaning around the corner).

Looks like those journalists were in the company of armed individuals (looked like an rpg like that pilot stated) during an american offensive. I don't think the first part is in conflict with the rules of engagement, but they had no reason to shoot at the van.
Shooting the van was like shooting a red cross van.

yeah that part was fucked up, but I do get why they engaged in the first place
