hey guys, my friend asked me to ask you if you could ask your friends to ask your friends if they can tell whats the best program to make music,or remix music :) help my friend out peace :)
nice chick for nice answers
nice chick for nice answers
VirtualDJ (For mixing 2 tracks together with switchovers & scratching soundfx)
Fruity Loops (Beat sequencer & track mastering, mainly for making your own beats - very good for beginners)
Ableton Live (Sequencer & track mastering, complicated to some, but taking the time to master this program will pay off, really good)
probably virtual dj..
virtual dj and ableton for live mixing,
ableton or fl studio for producing
mixmeister or ableton for offline mixing
edit
also belongs to Juize and znAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArk
wtf is this shit, posting our chick.. :S

DJing: Traktor Pro
Production: Samplitude 11
these are the absolute best. there is no competition to traktor (better than virtual dj), and there are plenty of good DAW's but samplitude is the best (its for windows only btw).
and here are essential VSTs:
NI Battery for drums
NI Kontact for other samples
NI Massive for synth (great for electronic base like dnb, dubstep, electro etc)
Most DAWs have decent VSTs already included also, it all depends how you use things really.
MIDI keyboard also very very useful if he gets serious.
This is the best site for audio software + libraries: http://keepthemfree.net/audio-and-music .. 227 pages of them
downlaoded traktor but it was much more complicate than i expected...
which features are new @ traktor?
here are my traktor settings (dont worry, mostly default): http://rapidshare.com/files/373237659/settings.tsi
Some useful shortcuts I use for when you dont have a midi mixer (in the settings already):
Numpad 1: slowly move crossfader left
Numpad 3: slowly move crossfade right
Numpad 4: Flick crossfader left
Numpad 5: Flick crossfader center
Numpad 6: Flick crossfader right
Numpad 7: Play/Pause Deck A
Numpad 9: Play/Pause Deck B
Space: Play/Pause current deck
^^ Very useful for mouse DJing, so you can be working with effects and do crossfader at same time. For example increasing the beatmasher effect with mouse so drum gets faster and faster, and then do the switch over with your fingers etc
if you suck you will make bad with even with expensive programs (take a look at superblanik for example).
for starters i would recommend fruity loops.
mixing without beatmatching is lame.
ableton and ni maschine for my producing shizzle.
but if u are talented u can use ANY software to make good music.
reason
FL / ableton /cubase
for DJing:
Definitely TRAKTOR.
I use traktor scratch pro my self and i just have to say that traktor is the best solution. many (known) DJs use it, e.g. carl cox.Just save money and buy traktor.
The solution with the most style is having vinyl.
CD is awesome too,
but vinyl is just the coolest thing around :D
still mixing without beatmachting is lame imo.
But i can handle cd players/turntables as well!
A friend of mine taught me pitchriding.
So I dont touch the record/platter and just use the pitchcontrol.
Cost me 3 months to be able to do it perfectly.
With a controller it isnt possible because the pitch isnt accurate enough.
which turntables do u got?
traktor is just enough for me at the moment...i am pupil and i cant buy cdjs yet... but im saving money to buy some reloop rmp2s in the next time..
what kind of music do u mix?
And i am a top DJ producer, i produce Teisto's music in my spare time, im that big.
