Need somehow to play movies from my computer on my TV...

So i bought a new Home Cinema set a few weeks ago and i watch a lot of movies when i'm bored... Now i need a better way to watch them cuz all these DVDs/Dual layers are costing me a fortune... is there a way to connect my pc to my Home cinema?? and if so how and what do i need for it??? A mate of mine told me he bought a mediaplayer... i was looking into it and this might be a option aswell i like to play movies/music on my TV/boxes of my home cinema set... does anyone use a mediaplayer and is there a lot of difference between them (shouldn't be too pricy)?? i want to use it mostly for movies and music so... Help me out :D

Didnt really read it all but I have a 32" HDTV hooked up to my PC. You will need a HDMI caple, your graphics card will need two slots too.
i have a 2 slot graphic card and i got a HDTV aswell, does it work well for u???

Its amazing, and the TV isnt even that good

hdmi cable or media hdd. problem solved.
My Pc is hooked to my HDTV and Surround set, much better than some random mediaplayer hdd imo

I use HDMI cable from vid card to TV
and SPDIF (coax) cable from soundcard (onboard) to my surround set.
bestaan der HDMI kabels van 20m :DD ? dan kannek da ook doen, kkem geen zin om keiveel geld uit te geve aan zo'n mediaplayer kaske :s
Parent
Ja ma 20 m zal wel heel duur zijn
Parent
so if I do that, I need a coax cable for the sound and a HDMI cable
Parent
depends what sound system you have.
If your amplyfier has HDMI and your video card had sound on the HDMI port you only need 1 hdmi cable for both sound and video
Parent
ok cheers i'll look into it :D

I first got myself a Popcorn Hour mediaplayer, but it sucked as it was lagging all over the place & the navigation sucks.

Then I used my pc as a HTPC (just my gaming PC), and connected my HDTV to it with HDMI. It works like a charm, and I can use Windows 7 Mediacentre which is amazing.
photoshopped girl
