Hope that helps.
The size of an army is determined by the amount of people and not by average penis size. >.>
They obviously gambled and lost, given the sales have fallen to a level that is simply laughable to say the least. Lets not even mention the share holders who have been screaming for blood.
Currently it's still in the top5 weekly sold games at Steam. Though that may have to do with the free weekend.
Exactly why its the only highest game/sales. (being free, was a move to continue its momentum. Simply business strategy to reduce and try and maintain the hype for as long as possible.
Apart from that, the repercutions are being felt and felt in a hard way. As i said, share holders are screaming for blood as its negative approach on a global scale to not allow individuals to attach a personal server has and will always create a slump in sales. Its simple economics. Supply and Demand.
Funny how others choose to allow dedi files. A common and very real study has indicated that by allowing gamers to achieve the "this is my server" does boost sales in its long term existence. Lets compare all non dedi server file games to games that have allowed the gamer to purchase and open his own personal server/clan/community. There is simply no comparison when you look at it as long term investment project.
why not dedicated servers for consoles too :S whats so wrong about that...
hopefully they'll realise their advantage or even do a quakelive type thing to manage servers
