i have both but red is better because i have a cheat cartridge for red :<

there's basically no serious difference except the fact that you get to catch a bit different pokemons on some areas, but practically, there's no difference

for 1st generation try yellow instead

i dont like the fact that some pokemon constantly follows me. creeps the shit outta me.

yes there is - you get actually get to fight those 2 'funny' Team-Rocket characters. (Jesse and James.)

As there are differences in the avalability of pokémon between the Red and Blue versions, there are also differences between the Yellow and the other two versions. The most marked difference is that all three of the Red/Blue starters can be gained in the Yellow version.

Those are the only major difference

That'd be Mewtwo most likely, although it varies per generation I suppose, since it is fucking overpowered having one of the highest speed stats in the game along with the highest special attack stat which kinda makes it rape through almost everything.

As Loazis said, Mewtwo... but he's way too stacked.

In terms of reasonable types (no legendaries), the strongest pokemon is easily Starmie. Water/Psychic, yes he has 5 weaknesses but he has incredible speed and special. Run Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Surf, and Psychic and you'll beat a lot of stuff.

Snorlax is a bitch to deal with in any situation =/ I would Sleep --> Focus Punch like with all Normal types, but obviously sleeping a snorlax is just asking for trouble. Chansey sucks, period.

chansey(or even better blissey) is very hard to deal with it unless u have a very good and high leveled fighting pkmn which can ohko it, so no, it doesn't suck :P

yeah actually the second part of my comment was "Outclassed by Blissey" but I removed it cuz I thought we were only talking about 1st generation :P True, Blissey doesn't suck; in fact, I play him a lot beside Skarm when I need to stall out. Also, he's a bitch with Natural Cure cuz if I try to sleep him to hit the FP, switching out cures status (then I get to sleep the next unlucky bastard :D)
