Ash cloud?? Where??

So, wanted to fly already last night to Edinburgh from here in Cologne but CAN'T!!

Where the fuck seriously is this cloud, I see NOTHING only perfect blue sky!!

you're wrong.. You can see clouds @ height 2-4km. Human's eye isnt able to see anything higher .

u can probaly see them cuz u are close to an airport.....................

man i live in groningen the only aiport we can see is eelde but i can't see planes from there the only aiport where many planes fly from is schiphol

nope... Military aircraft flying @ 2-4km above ground. Normal airliner flying @ 5-8km above ground.Thats all.

so 1000s of planes across europe and russia have been stopped and ur scientific explanation of why the ban should be lifted is 'we cant see them so its ok'

no you`re wrong. highest clouds here are 5-13 km high, Cirrocumulus e.g., like on this picture

the ash from this particular volcano is very fine ash , not like u see in the movies where thick ash rains down and killing everything. this ash is like talcom powder, the human eye cannot see the individual particles of the ash when it has spread out so much. OFC when it first happend u could see it cause all the dust/rock/glass was together but now its spread out the human eye cant see it. Right now its in the air around us just not harmful to people.

The only time you can "see" this ash cloud is at dawn/dusk. The particles refract the sun light much more than the normal atmosphere and therefore create much more colorful sunsets.

It's not like everything you can't see isn't there.
