New monitor ;)

So i my new monitor has arrived and had it for 1 day now. But i need some help to sort out a config for a lcd screen I have done the resolution settings and displayrefresh but i cant seem to calibrate the brightness ect to so i was wondering does any one have some cool settings to make et look nice with these sort of monitors? <3

I have viewsonic 22'' (vx2268wm) 3D LCD 1680x1050 @ 120 hz = 240 e =)

You dont need more than 60Hz on LCD. Hz is not that important on LCD like on CRT. You can play fine with 60Hz. You know that 99% of the LCD's are 60Hz. So you call those all fuckups? More hz can be usefull. But most people dont need it, since your eyes cant see more than 60fps anyway. Just with higher fps the feeling is better.

funny how i see big difference with my roommates 60hz and my 120hz :) and yeah 99% of lcd's are shit because of 60hz and huge ms :) but i can buy good one so i wont have to cry about "my 60hz shit is good enough, 120 is useless" :( fact is that 60hz is shit to ur eyes even with lcd =) if u cant see the difference, u must wear glasses or ur just blind already ;o

i bet all those millions people working everyday on 60hz lcd will have bad eyes, but i dont hear them complain. And you cant see the difference, it just feels different. Thats not the same thing. I would never buy a 120Hz LCD just for a game. I would rather invest money than in some S-PVA or IPS panel. You are just saying his screen is shit, because you think your screen is much better. Your screen sucks compared to the high-end lcd's. Than you need to pay $800 or more. Even my screen sucks than.

its just stupid to buy 60hz screen if u can have 120hz screen with same price. and when you do something (like play) where screen shows huge amounts of information, 120hz handles it smoother.but yeah for normal usage 60hz is enough, because only thing that is same as crt @ 60hz is backlight @ lcd and they normally operate @ 200 hz. but basically hz @ lcd's = how many times screen gets picture from gfx card. and because most of the games fps is forced to 60, u can play with 60hz lcd just fine and it looks better than normal crt. But when u play things like ET / quake u see the difference with 120 and 60 very well. im not destroying ur vision but this is how ive learned it : d

ur saying it right. I has effect on the engine in those games. But some people cant even see more than 30fps. But when the hz is higher it feels more smooth. But you dont see it, but the feeling is real.

too bad you dont have 1680x1050. You just need to try and find out further. And dont run the lcd monitor on lower resolution than that. Else everything will get blurry.

Nothing is blurry everything is fine with it. It's smooth feels nice (well put it this way it is a lot better than my CRT monitor, Never thought i would say that but it is)

Only high-end crt's are good. And most crt's are old now and not that good like they where before. But i just mean never run lower than the native resolution of your screen. Else it will get blurry. Just compare, if it doesnt bother you, than its fine.

Yeah that is very true. I do not run my monitor lower than the native resolution set. im not going to bring it down any lower than 1600 * 900

true dat. if i try to play with r_mode 7 like i used to, it looks like r_Mode 4 with pixels missing :x even high-end gfx cards work better with high resolutions, i rly cant play under 1280x1024 with my hd5870 :x fps drops etc

Yes i noticed this, i have a bigger monitor but yet my pc is running alot better with it. Strange huh, but i'm not complaining

i actually thinkin about this http://www.alza.cz/geforce-nvidia-3d-vision-lcd-samsung-2233rz-d120430.htm. Anyone have some experience with it? here in cze its about 380e for monitor+nvidia thingy. I am more interested in movies and serials than games...but WoW could be cool on 3D too :O

i can play / watch movies with my screen (ofc u need those nvidia glasses and card), i tried it @ store and it looks same as if u see avatar @ 3d in movies

... sadly i have 9600gt so good enough for movies..but i doubt its enough for games.
