London Rooms

Evening crossfire,

I'm looking for a room to rent during the summer because Im working in central london.

Does anyone here know a good company or website to find a flat to rent? And which isn't gumtree or craigslist and a company owned by Russians who are basically a scam?

Thanks

<3

p.s. if you're in london and have a room to let for the summer that would be awesome

You should contact letting agencies within the area you'll be working. London's expensive, though.
been trying - they're mega expensive (£300+ a week) and most are contracts for a year or run out 3 weeks before i finish my work experience

Sadly it's like that mostly everywhere. The places where it's not like that will fuck you around. It's probably worth your while to ask them what they can offer you.

london is a very big place and prices massively vary according to location, south, east, west, north, central

west, south, central will always be more expensive and north, east will be cheaper

best websites to look at are

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/
http://www.findaproperty.com/

u could definately find cheaper accomodation than £300 a week in london lol. ur best option is to live slightly outside and commute into london on a quick train journey.
renting on the outskirts of london or just outside ur probably looking at £400-600 PCM (per calender month) for cheap accomodation

inside london it gets pricey it realy depends on how much you earn and are willling to spend.

u can get a small cheap 1 bedroom flat for £400 PCM it rly depends on what u want from it, u can pay £400 PCM or £5000 PCM for a flat.
depends on the times and costs of travelling in but yeh that is a possibility

the main issue is around the dates i want to rent, most landlords want people for a whole year

Gumetree is really good, but make sure you check it out and it's all legit. You probably can't afford to live in Central London but just on the outer is good, maybe Brixton will be the closest or around South London.
pm unblind for more info :o
just stay in some old lady's spare room, she will bring you tea in the morning and its like <£2 a month
