Keyboards?

My Model M (1391406 - UK 1990 Version) came today, buckling spring system, truly beautiful to type on, but fucking noisy. Ps/2 of course, will be using this for a long while, but maybe not for next lan.

This will be replacing my rubber domed Cherry Cymotion.

Only morons give more than 5 euros for a keyboard.
G15 Refresh
a random 10euro logitech one.
What's the use?

Buy a $5 keyboard and a black marker, and there you go.
Parent
no click. no durability.
Parent
I've got a pretty noisy keyboard (Razer Tarantula), and I don't think that's a good think at all.
Parent
Does not disturb me much; matter of taste I guess. As I type very much (blind) I need a reliable feedback from the keyboard.

But actually the first one posted (IBM "Hackbrett") is still unmatched.
Parent
I don't look at the keys either when I type, or neither necessarily at the text that appears on the screen, but I don't think I need to hear my typing either..

Well, who cares. It's just a keyboard anyways.

PS: I've got one of those beige olde keyboards as in the opening post around :-P
Parent
Use it then, lowbob!
Parent
It has this shitty ghosting stuff that doesn't let me press down more than 3 keys at a time (ok, it depends on which keys I press - for example, pressing Shift-A-W-space (strafejump left in ET) works, but if I try Shift-A-D-space (strafejump right) it doesn't pick up either the D or the space..)

Otherwise I would.
Parent
Go get me the model number? :)
Parent
I think it's at my old apartment, it wasn't an IBM-made, but it looks pretty much exactly the same, hence "similiar".
Parent
Oh - thought you had a old school 1986 model then which i was going to offer to buy off you.

Unlucky, son.
Parent
"IBM Hackbrett"

Why do you call it this?
Parent
Because it was (and still is) widely used by hackers. i think guys from the CCC environment coined that term.
Parent
LATE reply, thanks though. :)
Parent
Yah I am kinda inactive but from time to time i still check the site :)

Some Logitech one that gives me crumbs when I beat it. Also I clean it using a toothpick, usually hair comes out.
This one needs a wash, but it feels too nice at the moment :(

logitech ultraX pwns mate ;p
Scissor keys :<
Parent
Really good to type on, imo! Atleast I haven't come across a better system for laptop style keys. Had the ultraX and 2 Cherry Stream XT with the SX buttons, and I really like it. Fast and responsive.
Parent
Laptop keys just don't cut it for me, and after trying this, not much else would anymore. I read how people were disgusted to see the change from expensive high grade equipment, to low grade - but never realized it as much as this.
