Where the ET Eurocup was finished a week ago; the Call of Duty 2 S&D Eurocup is still in it's Play Off phase. With 4 teams left in the Upper Bracket. And 4 teams left in the Lower Bracket.
Call of Duty 2 has been a part of this community site for quite a long time now but despite the efforts by some newswriters here, I recall Sainted and there are more out there, the game never felt like it was really covered here at Crossfire.nu. But still the game gets just as much prize money as ET on the CPC tournaments. And how many of those CoD2 players are really actively participating on this site. I'm not sure, but think not many, and you can't blame them; there's nothing for them to watch here.
After covering the final stage of the ET Eurocup XV I decided that now is the time to get the CoD2 community more involved here on Crossfire.nu. So where do we start. Let's just take a look at the current stage of the Eurocup: the Play Offs.
eSuba.Steelseries, winners of Group A, faced the very strong German side SPEEDLINK and they were taken down instantly and resulted in eSuba being sent down to the Lower Brackets where they will face Impact.TCI soon. This Italian side was looking good in Group D where they took the leading spot before H2k.Qpad and Serious Gaming, the two Dutch sides. Though the first Play Off match went disastrous for Impact.TCI, they lost to defusekids with a close 13:10 score. defusekids will now face the ealier mentioned SPEEDLINK as they fight for a spot in the Upper Bracket Final.
We also saw TeK-9 being taken down by H2k.Qpad with a 13:10. TeK-9, winners of Group C are now facing Team Dignitas. A strong, experienced side who were basically crushed by Logitech.fi. 13:7 was the final score, and Team Dignitas will have to take measures to make sure they're not going out in the first Lower Bracket Round. But can they beat TeK-9. H2k.Qpad and Logitech.fi are the remaining of these two fierce battles. They will face in the other Upper Bracket Semi-Final.
As you can see there were some pretty big names already knocked out in the Group Stage. Last years Top 3 team Reason Gaming fought for a spot at the final 8 in Group C but eventually finished 5th of the 6 in the group. A disappointing result for the Reason side. Also the CPC2 winners at Serious Gaming saw themselves just missing the step up because of Impact.TCI and H2k.Qpad taking the first two spots.
You'll be hearing from the Call of Duty 2 Eurocup more often from now on.
Btw, Go Davy!!
Nice work xrio <3
thats my last "lickin-ass-post" for today :)
Can't we create some vicious rumours? :-(
ET = 1 fuckup can cost you a map, in CoD2 a fuckup will only cost you a round, which is skilled!
Oh and xRio, any chance of getting that CF logo in psd/ai format? :E
Did you make it or is it available elsewhere, if not, how do you feel about releasing it under CC?
so its a psd with the logo in it, not a psd of the logo... sorry if i confused you.
Someone must have the original high res version o.O, available in an Illustrator file.
this is just exactly the same as the one in the banner...
