fnatic picks up CoD4

image: 1398Team Sweden Svea Royale had a great career in Call of Duty 2 playing in competitions such as the EuroCup and even winning the major Wonderbase LAN. In Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare they continued their success as part of Sweden EYEBALLERs, however after having recently stepped out of EYEBALLERS because of issues with the management the team has now found a home in the well known multigaming organization fnatic!

The new fnatic CoD4 lineup:
Sweden Martin "mintR" Röjder
Sweden Daniel "tidde" Asp
Sweden Mikael "Zsilts" Smedberg
Sweden Markus "Odyx" Nilsson
Sweden Johnny "klanne" Wahlqvist
Sweden Rickard "zEm" Intveld (Inactive)

Statement by Martin "mintR" Röjder:
QuoteFnatic felt more like a home for us than an organisation. We will wear the colors with pride and do the best we can, for as long as we can! Finally we would like to thank Fnatic, Sam, Jay and Joe for this chance! We want to wish the community great luck! and thanks for all the work and soul you put into it every, single day. First off, we want to test new tactics in the well respected CODQCUP, after that a bootcamp in Roskilde with the team before we head down to CDC4 in Holland.

Statement by James "2GD" Harding, fnatic management:
QuoteI'm extremely pleased to have such a great bunch of guys play for Fnatic. I already know they will do us proud as they have a great attitude towards the game and E-Sports. We look forward to following their success! On a community note, I hope more teams support Call of Duty so it reaches the top tier of the e-Sports circuit its always deserved

good4you :)

why the hell would u swedes bootcamp in roskilde though? :P waste of money if u'd ask me

i guess fnatic has an internetcafe sponsor there or so? :P
denmark isnt that far away from sweden...
Parent
Depends on how you look at it... sweden aint that small..
Parent
i know where denmark is as opposed to sweden thank you very much mister swine

ferry costs + fuel / train or even flight costs especially on scandinavia are high and its not necesary considering they have their own gaming cafe in sweden: ( http://www.hlo.nu/ )
Parent
actually theres a brigde between denmakr and sweden :P
Parent
which is prolly almost as expensive as the ferry is :P plus its a detour (to malmö?)
Parent
maybe none of the denish teams wants to travel to sweden?
Parent
Roskilde is quite a highly thought of center, and i'd guess that maybe the Roskilde team might attend also.
Parent
The teams that will be present at the bootcamp are all going to CDC4, teams are Roskilde Ravens, fnatic, Vicious & Evil and Team Infinity.

We'll have a blast :)

gl
You deserve it.
Great news, well done guys.
3/7 former dods players, awesome!
I hope here is the final countdown for CS, anyways thats a good song... :)
CoD4 can only beat CS if a TV mod is released, and even then it will take some time, which cod4 perhaps doesn't have because other cod titles are already in production.
Parent
it will never beat cs, it might be able to be a game next to cs, and those are realy rare. This is the fnatic acadmy - even wow is a major game for fnatic eventhough it's realy great and can make the future even more bright for that game but it will finally belong to the major competitions out there like ESWC, WCG or eventhough it's kinda dead for g7 teams, the CPL (which supported CoD2 in Italy i think? Or was it WSVG?)
Parent
wsvg supported cod2 in a couple of events in USA :)
Parent
WSVG died too early to have them on one level with WCG or ESWC to compare them or even mention them together. They died as most competitions (CPL) who don't stick to the major game the community plays (CS, WC3) and most don't care about them anymore. Q4 and WOW as major games in the second year and (+ guitar hero or so) didn't make a good competition or event. eSports is too fast to remember a 2 weeks event like that.

Agree but money > popularity
