EuroCup: overload versus Highbot

Yesterday the first match of the second round offered little surprise as Impact-gaming did what they had to as they did the day before. They have now worked themselves up to a solid top placing in their group and team FatGames are the only ones that can do anything to change it. Whereas their previous lineup on a first impression did not quite seem up to that challenge, perhaps their new additions will give them just the edge they need.
Tonight we have other things to focus on though as tonight it is group C's turn to step in to the spotlight. We have a big match for you on schedule which may well turn out to be the most important one of the entire groupstage...








This evening the first big match of the groupstages will take place as the Belgians of OVERLOAd take it up against HighBot. The new lineup of OVERLOAd is yet to be put to the test as their opponent for the first matchweek ( n1ce) unfortunately were forced to make use of their wildcard in light of lineup problems they were facing at that point. This means that the Belgian side has yet to show what they are made of and have yet to prove everyone that even with the two new faces they will still perform as well as they previously have. After both mesqi and abort went in to inactivity they have been on the lookout for two additions to fill the gap in their lineup and they came up with names that should ring a bell or two. Whether they still have the teamplay and -feeling they have become associated with we will now soon find out!

On the other end of the ring there is another well known side in the form of HighBot. The team has started off impressively by taking a rather easy 4-0 win in their qualifier game only to then play a very close game versus Kirwa Kirwurit Kirwanderin where they saw victory being grasped away right from under their very noses. Taking in to account though that for some, Kirwa are favorites to win this season's tournament one can argue that this was a very satisfying result for the Germans.
Group C may well prove to be the most exciting one and if HighBot manage to grab a win away tonight, the group is still wide open with three teams still having a shot at the playoffs.

This man has proven to perform well under pressure before (examples of which can be found at CDC4 and previous season's EuroCup) and seeing as this match may well come out to be the most important one for group C, he will definitely need that quality tonight! If he does indeed manage to get on top of things again, he will be most entertaining to watch I'm sure!

It will again be a tough game for us. Taking a quick glance over to the other side I see the likes of Sheep, Matias and lioco which adds up to a strong lineup. Sheep was the best player on cdc4 in my opinion and if I look at our team's preparation, our bad luck (like versus Kirwa, it will be really hard. Perhaps it is possible to win the game by decider! Still we have little to loose tonight and we hope to give the spectator an entertaining match. HIGHBOT IST KULT!

Personally, judging by the way HighBot went up against Kirwa, I feel they should absolutely be able to cause an upset tonight. If they do, we will have a very tense group on our hands which can still go either way.
There is still the chance that OVERLOAd's machine will prove too well-oiled for the Germans to challenge eventhough the team lacks the experience of playing officials still.
