Crossfire Challenge 6 UPDATE

The Crossfire Challenge 6 is upon us! As previously announced the event is taking place in the WZZRD Gaming Cafe in Enschede on May 1st to May 3rd. The long awaited prize announcement is now upon us!

The ET tournament will get a €5000 prizepurse as it did last time with a €45 entry fee. The Call of Duty tournament will be a CoD2 triggered tournament, this (as has already been known) means that CoD teams simply pay via paypal and then if the magic number of 16 teams isn't reached then the tournament wont go ahead and everyone gets their money back. 5 teams have currently signed up for this with 2 others showing interest. There will not be a CoD4 tournament due to the low turnout at the last event and the clash with LAN79, which is also running CoD4.

I'm very glad to announce that YCN-Hosting will be coming on board as title sponsor for the event. Starzi & EYJohn were both admins at the last event and decided to ramp up YCN's involvement with the event and we're very glad to have not only their support but support from two people who have grown to become integral within the ET Community over the past year.

Payments! This is still not quite ready as I search for a more efficient method of doing this, however the payment option will open on March 1st and run for 2 weeks to March 15th, in this period anyone wish to attend will have to signup and payment their entrance fee so start getting yourself ready.

You can book your accomodation through WZZRD again so be sure to log on to WZZRD.nl.

Last event we ran a 3on3 tournament on the Sunday for those that had been knocked out, it was a great success and this time we're thinking about either 3on3 or RTCW your feedback would be greatly appreciated! We're expecting to be able to give teams more game time than at CC5 also. We will also ensure that all ET matches are played on the same monitor as requested post CC5.

Update - Due to a large volume of requests from the CoD community, we will also offer a triggered CoD4 tournament. This is exactly the same as the CoD2 tournament, you pay via paypal to [email protected] making sure to make it optional to accept the payment (i.e. I can click refund instantly if its cancelled at no cost) and the entrance fee will be turned around into prizemoney. So if 16 teams signup there'd be a 4000 Euro tournament. And yes we'd find a way for teams to play in both tourneys

I already PM'ed you about RtCW but as you said last time you tried there was not enough interest. And i think this time there wont be either. :< I'd of course love to play RtCW rather then 3on3 but in my eyes we'll have to swim with the mass :P

This in my opinion also results from the RtCW Teams that are 'active' or atleast exist not wanting to spend "that much money" + the trip to Enschede for just a Sunday of playing. I know its not really possible to change that so i think it'll come down to the 3on3 @ Sunday.

a lot of these long range rifles are scripted, just ban them imho. I dont see why you would dissagree as you dont seem to use any of them.

works the same as 180 script. just override the yawnspeed and pitchspeed for 1-2 ms. Go stand in a corner, so ur allways in the same spot. Aim at a target, push the scriptbutton and it will aim up in the sky and shoot: voila uber riflekills from 1st part of sd2 to the axis respawn

ET:QW never really had a peak, it got released, it was popular for a few months, then it disappeared. CC4 in spring 2008 had 9 teams in attendance.

Quakecon 2008 attracted 24 teams though (16 PC and 8 on Xbox 360), which is pretty nice for a dead game.

I'm not going to speak for TosspoT but the way I see it, Crossfire is giving CoD2 and CoD4 a chance because the relation with these games has done Crossfire well in the past. This doesn't mean every random game can have a "get enough teams signed up and we'll host it" competition.

No. Spring OC last year, mamut won the final be default, but that's it.

nonsense, post news / articles / tutorials on crossfire, makes no sense bringing back a dead german community - forum will last as it is on the real pw.de, this just looks like a cheap fake and seriously not a good one :<

You may have missed that ingame shut down pw.de and its forum. Palacewolfenstein is what was left of the former community. With the launch of Wolfenstein this new project will start. And before calling it a fake, better get some information ;p And you may be right with your point about the larger reader base here at Crossifre, still it's a shame Germany doesn't even have a decent wolf community for scene news, as Poland and France for example have got. There may also be people that prefer speaking in their native language from time to time or are even scared to visit Crossfire because its english.

Stormy's PC overheated when we where playing vs Decibel, match took about 3 hours because they only switched the PC after the third time.

IMO wzzrd is a shitty lan center (shit PC's, wrong drivers installed, and not answering email), but atleast we had the YCN guys to fix it. And the place is just too small for an event like CC, no place for moving around when there are people at the bar and specs watching some players.

Those are also the first PCs I have seen that crashed with the realtime usb switch thingy. (Yes Adacore, you never saw any that worked with it :D)
