Connect to the ventrilo anytime, play some games, have a laugh and chill with everyone from the community.

That died a death after two weeks, though Ronner's lua script was nice.

I would really love a server / stat dump page similar to what hirntot have on xf - possibly taking info from comp servers, that'd be sex ^_^

Well, the idea was nice, but the more people had a record in the file that the luascript checked, the laggier the server got.

It's just a shame that the features we needed to circumvent this never made it to a new version of the mod, otherwise it could've been used for tons of great things.

Could've enabled some permanency in a ban, I agree – there was great potential in it.

What was the reasoning they lost interest?

I don't know why the interest wasn't there. Probably the same reason to stop developing for etpro in the first place. Too bad though. If this system was going to be used it would've resulted in permanent bans on all servers, making sure only allowed players would be able to connect to a game server etc..etc.

Yah, remember I brought two desktop pc's that were set up as game-servers for one of the cc's? I made that lua script on one of those and from there put it on the x3m machine we had as web/gameserver and ran the cf-public with the luascript thing. The two desktop pc's were later reinstalled and given away as gifts to family-members. The x3m machine, well cf moved to game-hosting and with that the lua-script vanished.

It wasn't that hard to write though so making it again shouldn't be taking that long, but that's all in vain anyway if there is no support on the mod-side to make a few additions so you won't hog up the game-server's resources when checking someone's credentials.

I really dont get why you cant embed video's in your newsposts. Its 2009 ... I understand why you cant have them in the journal and comment sections with a userbase like crossfire has, but not in the news?

Same goes for not having any way to give feedback, sort content by popularity rather then having to read trough 10 shitjournals to find a decent one :'(

Which part of I dont want embed video dont you understand? It adds such a loadtime to pages that it really isnt interesting. Imagine trying to load a page with 10 embeded flash videos to load, yuck!

o plz, the clients disconnect within less then a minute ... and most ventrilos limit the amount of ips that connect at the same time. its not like i hacked your password or anything ...

and ofc any page with ten youtube videos would load slow, thats why you only want them inside the newspost and not in comments. no point in argueing.

I think you didn't fully understand what he wrote and assumed he meant being able to add video's in comments/journals etc, which he clearly didn't.

If you have about 10 videos on the page it will take a while to load, sure, but if you only have one video in the newspost itself it doesnt' take much time to load at all, and that's what he meant. Just the option to have a video along with a newspost and in my professional opinion he's right.

there was interest, but it failed due to the website itself running on the same hardware, which made the game-server lag like hell. Plus the luascript that would hog up CPU resources and made the game-server lag when it had to look up credentials in larger files. It was requested to add the possibility to do remote requests from a luascript to let another server handle the authentication and prevent the game-server from lagging, but that failed because etpro was not being developed on any further.
