Fnatic.MSI Win First Ever MW2 Tournament!

As most of you know, Multiplay's i38 LAN was home to the FIRST EVER Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Tournament.

Fnatic.MSI took the win. And deservedly so!

The game mode was different to the usual Search & Destroy that the COD scene is used to. This time, Capture The Flag was the choice of mode to be used.

The 1st map was Sub, chosen by Fnatic. Dignitas seemed comfortable & in control until Fnatic managed to even the scores up.

There was a slight delay as some of the players had technical problems with their PCs between maps, but this didn't put Fnatic off their stride.

The second map was Quarry, picked by Dignitas. Quarry is quite a large map with lots of high ground and sneaky hiding spots. Surely Dignitas' Blackmane would be rubbing his hands with glee at the though of getting his hands on a sniper rifle. He did just that making a few decent shots but nothing spectacular. He then decided to pick up a Riot Shield and try to ram his way through Fnatic. However, this ended up with him being stabbed numerous times. It was quite clear he wasn't taking it serious.

So, congratulations Fnatic.MSI on their well-deserved win!

i reckon ctf is quite nice actually. turns up the pace :)

..but the noobtubes.. ehrm. big no no.

I know that they played the XBOX360 tourney. They won that, afaik.

No, you can only do a melee attack with the shield ^^

You can give your team cover while they hide behind you & your shield. But the problem is that blackmane went solo with it, and get knifed 3 times :DD

Yeah, the shield is your primary. Your secondary is a machine pistol. It's quiet well balanced tbh. You can kill somebody with 2 or 3 shots with the shield (melee attack) and when they shoot at you, if you crouch, you're whole body is covered. The bullets even ricochet and kill the guy shooting you too :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

yeah thats funny^^

only very annoying that you need 2/3 hits with the shield for a kill

also it feels very awkward when you melee an enemy... feels like your pushing him instead of hurting him

still original idea.. .and having a shielder can be very usefull...

like in headquarters, very nice to take over or hold a HQ

similar to 1.6 shield.

game needs a promod, maps in ctf style are not unplayable tbh.

CTF has always been an awesome comp mode in other games (T2, UT etc). Have always doubted it would be much fun in a slower game like CoD but I've been enjoying it most of all the modes in MW2.
