The Full Tilt Poker Challenge Adds Enemy Territory

Two days ago we announced four tournaments on Esports Heaven, with a total of €6,000 in cash prizes for Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2 and Quake Live. I am talking, of course, about the Full Tilt Poker Challenge.

This is our biggest set of tournaments ever to take place on Esports Heaven since we launched the site in July 2009, and two of the tournaments are also the two biggest cash tournaments in their own right. Feedback from all Heaven Media websites has been amazing, and from external gaming sites all over Europe, but a number of comments here on Crossfire did make us think long and hard...

The question of Enemy Territory events on Esports Heaven was debated, as well as whether the fact that it's such a key game to the Crossfire community should have an impact on what tournaments Esports Heaven runs.

Ultimately they are separate brands, and for the most part we actually leave game decisions up to the Esports Heaven staff, which is one of the reasons we haven't pushed for games such as Enemy Territory and Counter-Strike 1.6 to be picked up based solely on our other websites. (Incidentally, both games have featured on Esports Heaven a couple of times, in fact the second tournament we ever announced was the ET SteelSeries Cup with some tasty prizes involved from our hardware-creating friends.)

All that aside, however, we weren't too happy with even a few of you feeling that you're taken for granted, and after speaking to the guys at Full Tilt Poker, they completely agreed.

Therefore, I am very happy to announce that a fifth tournament will become a part of the Full Tilt Poker Challenge, with a €500 cash prize involved. This tournament is, of course, for Enemy Territory.

As with the other tournaments, full details including dates will be announced in the near future, so for now, I'll leave you with this message. Esports Heaven is run, for the most part, by a fantastic team of volunteers, and for this to work, they could really do with some help from a couple of ET fanatics, so if you think you've got what it takes to lend a hand, please do send an email about yourself to steven[at]heavenmedia.com!

p.s. Don't forget that if you love poker half as much as Enemy Territory, Full Tilt Poker is the place to be ;)

I guess this is enough to make me decide between Full Tilt and Pokerstars (raked 100k$+ lifetime)
like choosing between ftp and ps is so hard lulz. plz
Parent
well yea.

ps is much better in any way.d
Parent
really depends lol..
Parent
Well dunno.. layout style FTP is the shit for me, plus FTP has rakeback. and with 9K hands per week that's some awesome shit.

PS has more fish thought, and better tournaments, and a good stellar reward but still..

FTP > PS.
Parent
that's what im talking about!

ps. I have given FTP $100 as a rake this month already = me sponsoring the cup

ps2. it's a really wise move from fulltiltpoker, that 500e can earn a lot of money to them. they should make more tournaments like this in the future!

finally, good job corin, whoever you are
it's a very good move by full tilt tbh even when it's small one among the others. nominal and insignificant effort and a lot of visibility. still it's good for the game I guess. just my 2 cents.
6000$ is nothing for them.

you are basicly playng for my rake.
FTP going to take over gamestv next and allow proper betting?
No - but coincidentally we have worked with Paddy Power on certain events over the past few months to provide esports betting.
Parent
well it does sort of make sense even if i dont agree with betting on a moral level :p
good for esports tho
Parent

Alot of respect to you Corin, HM and FTP. I know its hard once you have announced something and worked hard behind the scenes on making sure everythng is perfect to then have an individual or community such as myself or crossfire criticising all of the hard work that you put in. I am sure you never took it personal or at least i hope you never did and i know i may have come across a bit strong and criticial but i am glad that you listened and had the decency and courage to go back/add ET to the tournament. I am sure you will see that it will be a benefit to everyone and the community will provide an amazing tournament. The ET community will appreciate this so much and with it being partially in the spotlight in terms of running next to big name games, it can only be a positive for the game and the community. Thanks again and cudos to you HM and FTP x
:)

+1 , Not much left to say lol
