Last night Queens picked up the Clanbase Eurocup Gold Medal with victory over BelgoGerman Gaming2Perfection. The match, though filled with stops and starts was extremely entertaining with Gaming2Perfection giving a good account of themselves.
Queens 4:2 Gaming2Perfection
The match was not without incident as both sides had wide ranging connection problems, Queens' sQzz and Razz both started the game with pings of around 150 though they dropped to closer to 100 during the match. During the game G2P stalwart Jere randomly disconnected several times and had to be replaced by former ButtonBashers hero, Clown, at times during Goldrush.
Supply Depot - G2P Started this map at the speed of light opening up with a double panzer from Blade and building momentum off the back of it. The first stage, normally a safe hold for any team featuring Night, was over before it began! G2P pounced on any opening they could find off the back of that panzer and charged through. They successfully deployed a covert ops to take the command post stage quickly as well. The only resistance G2P encountered was getting the truck finally into position. They set a 8:17 time with Blade starring throughout. Queens had no reply to that time, indeed the momentum was still with G2P and they held their opponents at the first stage.
GoldRush - Momentum doesn't last forever and for G2P it lasted exactly 17 minutes (the entire duration of Supply Depot). With Goldrush underway the Queens side were in full swing and pounced on a terrible first stage defence to steal the tank away in under 2 minutes. It was at this point when Jere's internet connection really started to give way and G2P lost all rhythm the only thing holding Queens up was the speed of the tank, queens eventually setting a time of 7:07. The side who had played so well thus far didn't offer anything going forward, they sluggishly claimed the tank and with 2 minutes left on the clock got it to the bridge only for a rare variation of the tank bug to strike. Despite Queens (who didn't know) constantly hitting the bridge with Grenades and Support Fires after the tank had stopped dead, the repair bar would not reset. It took 60 seconds for it to reset and with no CB Admin in site, tempers already frayed and the reality that it wasn't going to effect the outcome of the map it brought an end to Gold Rush.
Adlernest - Griim opened the scoring with a double panzer on the G2P's allied attack. Despite what looked like players getting in his way, he nestled his panzer onto the feet of two incoming Axis defenders. It was however to contribute little as the remaining Axis mopped up the rest of the allied side and G2P failed to build a quick attack. The highlight of the first stage has to be Night's dynamite kill as G2P were finishing off the opening objective! G2P went on to set a time of around 4:21 leaving Queens with a job they had to completely promptly. The top seed started well, looking likely of doing so with 2 minutes to spare as they cleared through early objectives and then opened up the final stage defence with a two pronged attack from spawn and from the CP. However with just the documents to transmit, G2P were defiant until the last holding the transmitter for approximately 2 minutes with many a frantic SMG battle. Eventually they could hold no more and Razz ran the documents home to win the Eurocup for Queens.

gj hannes
he has started shooting now! :D
Either way, the tank bug could have changed the match score. It more 1 minute or more to be damaged. As you said, if you could you would give them 1 extra minute because of that. Shame on CB twice because there wasn't any ref/supervisor available at the big final.
Cheers.
edit:
[2:47]: The Tank has been repaired!
[2:42]: Truck Barrier #1 has been constructed.
ECFAILERJERE [2:17]: tank bug :)
ECFAILERJERE [1:43]: still bugged xD
[1:33]: The Tank has been damaged!
[1:08]: The Tank has been repaired!
74 seconds of bug.
chry nerd chry getting carried
blabla casual stuff
ggs though, pretty annoying final but it wasn't the fault of teams... just the unreliability of bugs & internet connections.
I know the timing was perfect, dont know about the aim :)
Made especially for you (not by me tho but i wont give credit to infi cuz he fat)
Was thinking g2p were going atleast win one game, but it looked to me like jere and griim their 400pings fucked things up pretty bad. I mean 80-120 ping is one thing, but 400 is something different.
As for the match, meh. It was ok, was nice to finish it all up with Adler so we could all be reminded of what ET actually is all about and what it still can be :)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
et is dieing out!
ec is nothing anymore, look at the teams... and with such admins ec will never be anything anymore, as many guys allrdy said^^
but no doubt grush was a 5on6 later. watch jere@ replay.
btw did headi contact you yet?
And yea its funny that the reason you were scared to start on supply took us down on the other maps. Ah what does it matter now... never get a chance to see what we were capable of if we hadn't be fucked over... guess that just pisses me off.
A little lag on gr < 2 players lagging for the full map on SD
