After few days of talks, thoughts and decisions our Allstars captains have picked their lineups. There are some surprises, there are old faces and most importantly almost every selected player has played at CGS LAN. So who are the lucky players chosen to fight for immortality? Let's find out, right after these messages.
Before the lineups, there are few things I need to tell you all about the cup, as there've been some changes to the formula. As a very open-minded person I've listened to all ideas and put them to work. First and really major change is switching groupstage from BO1 to BO3. That means the games will be longer and less random. The maps will be forced for each round, starting with Supply and Frostbite in 1st round, followed by sw_goldrush_te and Adlernest in 2nd round and finally radar will be joined by braundorf_b4. Yes, you've read it right, good old b4 has replaced bremen_b3 in mappool. Those changes have pushed the tournament back in time and now the starting time is 18:30 CET on Sunday. All games are requested on GTV so hurry and place your bets and discuss games in comments.
And now for the part you've all been waiting for: the lineups. Let's start with the defending champion South. And oh boy, some surprises coming here. Captain
w1lko picked himself up a handful of LAN players, including CGS champion blk and runner-ups - Pius and palemki. Joined by 3rd place player mag and biggest LAN surprise sosji, the lineup seems capable of holding the gold. In case someone has any issue, have no fear. Brave Woozie is awaiting on back-up spot, ready to hop in at any point.
Last year's runner-up North led byLoCkheed also have some surprises up their sleeve. This experienced player had quite a hard time with completing the lineup and didn't avoid a bit of controversy, but overall the lineup seems capable of messing up South's plan of defending the title. Starting off with another CGS champion Lukey, followed by one of the best rifles around zMk and experienced jumper WuT, we get team with quite destructive power. All those stars will be joined by Allstars' biggest surprise - olas, who will have to prove everyone that he deserves the spot. Lastly, the cherry on this pie is a real legend and one of the best players ever - one and only kot.
Third place holder, hoping to improve this year, team West is a very special one, since it's entirely made of CGS LAN players.Wrobel needed very little time to complete his lineup and didn't hesitate for a second, picking up his LAN teammate naga, adding another champion - fanatic and supporting them with runner-ups Voodoo and grzesiek from neVerminds. Finishing lineup is Abj, who also played very well at LAN, which some found surprising.
And the last team - East. A place with very dedicated captain.Czarek decided to go for full show and called up 8 players and thought of a plan to rotate them in groupstage, giving everyone 2 games to play. It's still mystery who will play in the playoffs, but what we do know is that the called 8 looks really impressive and noone could complain about the picks. Starting off as in every team we have CGS champions dialer and Frag`Stealer, followed by the blurred-vision crew of fixxxer, hunter, capone and Michalek. Finishing the lineup is the devilry duo of Dolar and errol who performed very well at LAN and will hope to keep it up online.
Now that we know the lineups, we can only hope for exciting games on Sunday with lots of multikills, headshots, epic docruns and overall drama with as little flame as possible. All this will be available on ETTV, in some cases with the shoutcast of one and onlyKOKIA. See you all on Sunday.
