Groups Phase Overview

image: cbgoldlogontWith the first stage of the ET NC about to close, ClanBase has overviewed the season so far as well as the nations, the matches and the players.

QuoteAs the groups phase for the fifth Enemy Territory NationsCup draws to a close, it's worthing taking a brief look at matches to come and winners of the past. My trusty Belgian boyo NightRaver has taken a look at the groups, the clans we can expect to see in the playoffs as well as the matches needed to get there. A second overview gives an insight to the past of the ET NationsCup and who made it big in the ET scene!

ClanBase NationsCup IX Announced!

image: cbgoldlogontClanBase Enemy Territory NationsCup IX

ClanBase has tonight announced it's ninth NationsCup season. While the delay has had ET users users biting their nails in anticipation, another season is rolled up ready to go with a few welcome additions.

While last season's tipped winners Estonia Estonia took home the gold, a slight controversy almost saw Hungary Team Hungary losing their silver medal and a slightly less-likely United Kingdom United Kingdom lineup took the third spot for the first ET NC ever... Certainly a less than predictable ending to ET's most anticipated National competition.

This season's NationsCup will be headed by the newest additions to the ClanBase ET crew; Thalakos and NightRaver. While the maximum 3-man rule hasn't changed, ClanBase has for the first NC introduced wildcards for use by teams during the season. A slightly new selection process for Nation Team Captains also takes place this season.

For the full rundown, head over to ClanBase.

CB ET EuroCup XII Invites

image: ecxiiFollowing the ClanBase announcement of the exciting AmeriCup/EuroCup prize purse this season, a nail biting two and a half hour EuroCup Invitation announcement took place. While some may say the Enemy Territory's grab on a $1500 chunk of the prize purse may be somewhat excessive, there was no doubt that there would be plenty panzer pushing talent to line the path to yet another ET EC celebration.

There will always be obvious selections when it comes to EuroCup invites; teams that might have stormed the previous season and practically guaranteed themselves a spot (such as Estonia idle.) What makes EuroCup invitations that little more "on-the-edge-of-yer-seat, like" are the qualifier entries given to clans that have proven themselves worthy of this level of competition.

While some have been given the chance and failed miserably, many have continued to rip through the EC just like any normal high-level group (Finland parodia being the perfect example.)

So, who made the cut this season?

GAMESTV.ORG Returns ...again

image: small_yellDue to a lack of sufficient backups and a rather unfortunate servercrash with our webhost, GAMESTV.ORG recently went through a prolonged downtime. The ET scene has been pining for the top ETTV coverage which is truckloaded in on a daily basis.

Users need cry no more! GAMESTV.ORG tonight returns with the same ETTV system as used previously with minimal data loss. While the majority of the downtime was spent recovering lost data, some users will need to resignup and set options on their accounts.

It was an unfortunate incident but the rebuild isn't complete. We will continue to re-implement and develop (even further!) the features we saw previously such as avatar uploading and improvement of the ETTV coverage system for league admins and cupadmins.

In the meantime, ETTV IPs will now be online as usual for the masses. Check out the usual location for a rundown of what's planned so far.
