Its Team-Helix - back again

image: hx

With being since the start of ET now, Europe Team Helix is one of the biggest names nowadays and have ever been played with a great performance during the cups.
With former players of Belgium cZar and United Kingdom uQ Gaming, the new lineup will try to compete in the upcoming ESL Cups and in the next Clanbase season and the following players will hopefully keep up the flag of Europe Team Helix.

Line up:
Belgium zet0 (former uQ-Gaming)
Hungary seNti (former uQ-Gaming)
Netherlands Ati_ (former uQ-Gaming)
Belgium kevin (former cZar)
Belgium Lioco (former cZar)
Germany murda (former Team Helix)

I`ve caught up with Netherlands Ati to get his statement and opinion for the new team:
QuoteThere are several reasons why we formed this team, but I think the main one is that we know eachother pretty well. Me, senti and zeto know eachother from uQ and I also know kevin and lioco from cZar. Murda on the other hand never played in the same team as one of us guys, but most of us know him for a while already. We'll be playing in most of the cups ladders and we hope to get some good results.

Will they stay more then 2 weeks? Time will tell and we will see, anyway, every team is needed to hold our beloved ET alive and hopefully, we will get even more succes in the future!

Good luck Europe Team Helix!

Europe idle vs Europe Northern Darkness
Time: 21:00 CET
ETTV: GamesTV.org
Shoutcast: iTG`TosspoT & Stewie @ Server 1

Taking a quick look at Gbooky, idle are clear favourites for this one. The side all be it without Sweden Ferus, who is highly active with idle's preperations for Quakecon well underway and a Northern Darkness team that may well be on the rocks with star member Netherlands Kris on Quakecon duty with KiH!

These multi-talented and multi-cultural teams are expected to line up as follows:

idle: Night, Holz, teKoa, adzz, Senji, Urtier
ND: acoZz, JakaZc, gmx, asd, emorej, dav1d

Clanbase have written a full preview which outlines the grand finals with interviews and predictions that you can read Here

Check 6 on the ropes!

Quakecon 2005 ET Winners and international gaming conglomerate Check 6 have been rocked by the departure of Ireland Crow from their squad under a very dark cloud.

TeK-9 broke the news that the Check 6 CoD 2 squad has been forced to withdraw from the upcoming Outpost on Fire LAN next weekend and of crows departure. Stating that there were "internal problems" and that the whole scenario had left Crow saddened and unmotivated to continue playing Call of Duty 2 at the moment.

With the whole team not attending the event and it not being just Crow, it is a safe assumption that the travel arrangements for the event simply had not been made or booked as the remaining 4 players would likely have attended with a replacement. This instability comes after the team turned around their fortunes in Eurocup and qualified for the lan finals with impressive online victories over Dignitas and Speedlink.

Last month Check 6 were in a similar position when United States of America cha0ticz was left with an invite but not a ticket to the Quake 4 tournament at ESWC in Paris. Could Check 6 be about to run dry of the funds that have made them a recognised name in the gaming scene?

Outpost on Fire LAN - Groups

In about a week Belgium TeK-9s Outpost on Fire LAN is going to start. 24 europen teams will fight for 2750€ cash and 2500€ hardware. Today the organisers announced the groups and the first three maps for the upcoming event.

Unfortunately Europe Check-Six cannot attend due to a lack of support by their organisation. As a result Germany Mortal-Sin will replace them and Finland Insignia Cadre will be moved to high seed. Furthermore Italy TooEasy will be moved to the mid seed.

The groups were randomly put together (each groups contains 1 high seed, 1 mid seed and 2 low seeds):

Qcon Update

image: qconxfire The following information was posted on the Quakecon forums by Nate (Director of Competitions):

"Now, about the ET tournament - let me explain our line of thought.

With a tournament announcement coming out just about a month before the event, I did not think very many europeans would be making the trip. We figured it would be a mostly american, pick-up type of tournament. This is why we dropped it to 5v5, and made it a very small tourney.

With new information, and possibly some PROOF of travel plans, we may be able to investigate other options."

[Proof of travel arrangements should be sent to] [email protected] noting that scanned originals are preferred.
