How good are the Crossfire Crew at running the site?

Only a few admins do their job neutrally but not over zealously.

i think the admins should be more neutral. they only support and forgive the guys on the site which are their friends and stuff and punish the ones they dont like...this kinda sucks.

some quakewars nazis, some overall nazis, and few good admins (<3sol)

I think they do a good job on the daily maintenance side of things considering the vast amounts of pure shite that gets spammed around.

Would be nice to see some more proactive ideas and innovations, but then again if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

A community of this size could benefit from some competitions other than just gaming tournies though - the quakewars beta key comp. for example was good fun.

all i see is admins not banning spamming bullshit-talkers and deleting journals that aren't even annoying/offensive/...

not the mention the xxx<3random_admin in the nicks.

Good imo, running a community such as this is a pretty thankless task so how they put up with it all is beyond me.

The fact that they've managed to organize a LAN from the ground up is impressive, along with managing to somehow send a team to Quakecon!

I think the main argument on xfire today is the journals. A big amount of users see this 'write in your journal' button and really consider it 'their' journal, allowing them to write just anything, whether it took them 5 seconds to write or just 5 minutes. Most of these journals are total crap and I stopped browsing journals a long time ago as 90% of them are either attentionwhoring, currently playing or some random youtube link journal nobody really cares about.

On the other hand, journals are what made crossfire this big. People dont browse xfire for 1 hour to read newsposts (about cod and etqw). They browse crossfire for the stupid journals with the even more retarded comments.

Imho, allow anything but racist stuff to be posted in journals. Stop moderating it. People should be allowed to write whatever they want in their journal, no matter how retarded and average it might be. Forums should be moderated way more, just delete all the posts which took less then 1 minute to make.

Though I don't use the website or talk to the admins much that more, nellie, foonr and TosspoT, are/were the best.

tbh i've no idea why is everyone flaming sol, i've never had any issues with the guy

my stuff was deleted a few times, sometimes from him, sometimes from other admins.. but whenever i asked him, he kindly explained what happend and there was always a valid reason

+ excluding ex/cheaters from competition
+ quality news/articles (when written)

- too less news/articles/columns
- too less innovation of the page
- too hard restriction of any anti etqw/cod4 comments (it's a wolf:et based comm, can't disclaim that.)
- lately too many non et related news
- sometimes too strict comment/journal deleting

(btw: please ban the word 'fail', it just became annoying lately.)

Some of the admins are nice, and some are not. I'd say it's about 75-25.

However I voted for terrible. The language thing is just stupid. You could aswell make few forum sections more for own languages, since there are so many people watching the forums. Also, some people that are seeking for help, ain't that good with english, and they don't get any help then.

You should punish flamers more than people who aren't good with english language.
