Thought it would be interesting to know how people believe the flags of teams should be decided. Be it the most players of one nationality in the team (eg. 6 cz players -> , 5 de players + 1 dutch player -> ), though it's even questionable what makes a team international and what not. Or does the country in which the MGC is based in (eg. Blight) or the history of the team ( Celsus as latest example) determine what flag should be chosen? When a team gets founded like for example the Pin Pals it has been all Spanish then after some months international players have been added and now only one or two Spanish players are left in the team. Still the Spanish flag has been kept for quite a while; same goes for Celsus and I also know it from a team called FakkelBrigade from TF2 and DoDs - the team was once an all Dutch team but is composed of international players now for more than a year.
The reason for this poll is that I think it's quite irritating to find Portuguese or US flags within the signups eventhough there are no teams coming from there. Maybe some kind of unwritten rule could make all this more transparent in case the community thinks the same way. So the question is:
What decides a Team's flag?
1) Nationality of the players
2) History of the team
3) Nationality of the MGC
Though it's still complicated to distinguish between international teams and country based teams. How many Poles does a team need to have for it to be Polish and so on...

and what if team doesnt have MGC?!::SA;AS
US compo => US flag
EU compo = > EU flag
Besides, there are more then just him and Kirark that could be in an EU team anyway, I love you ignorance to the Japanese side of ET just because you haven't heard of many others apart from the few that decided to play against Europeans.
Still, give me an example of 1 ET-team which featured 2 Japanese players in the active line-up and played Euro-competitions, and I'll gladly apologize and say I was wrong.
And if any other was available, EU and increased would have 2 or more japanese players.
That's why I replied with what I replied.
I also see it's hard for you to accept you were wrong about the off topic part.
And I already admitted I was wrong.
I guess MGC(if one)>History (based on the players though)>NaT of Players
I think the MGC has to have some priority, they pay for stuff so :-)
I guess MGC(if one)>History (based on the players though)>NaT of Players
But as you see, nearly all the clubs have a badge/logo or whatever you want to call it that resembles where they are from, and their "mascot".
keep it real

That is not a Team
It's clearly
if they sell their soul, they should let it show
If there aint some serious MGC, the best option would be by nationality.
-> but all those EU teams around here in ET are destroying any competition between countries.
have a nice day
surely most teams as or global :S
if we go by the mgc or the clan players it will be EU most of the time and that sucks. Or amercian like blight :s
New teams should have or less known teams should have flag of nationality of players.
This case comes back all the time.
If it is a small project, then players / leaders / ask them ;d
If gaming wants to go mainstream it needs to get some standards sorted.
100% 'EU' flags should not be used
bs
i.e. you have lots of mongolians playing for chelsea but they arent a mongoloid team
just look at big MGCs like Fnatic or SK and so on. they are placed in australia and germany but their cs teams, for example, always have the flag of the nationality of the players, who are (in this case) swedes.
SNB FOR LIFE. Seychelles flag is in my room asking "plz can i go to CC7?"
only cunts gave us
nr 1 in my eyes would be the nationality of the mgc, which is the core of everything.. (though others might disagree, it's something personal maybe?)
H2K
Never seen those teams with their current line-up in combination with pl or nl flag?
a team is a team...the players have a nationality
so why would you expect to be excluded from such basic and obvious and ethical and self explanatory rule. Sometimes, the things i read here make my eyes water.
I guess if you would like to choose your flag as a team, its only fair to pay 60% of the running costs, i would definitely like to see the givers and takers now.
History could make a team use a certain flag due to an old line-up that was mostly populated by a certain country.
MGC should be whatever they base their teams on, if they're teams are all from a certain country, use that flag, if they have more nations playing in the teams, use another flag.
And the players thing, well most new teams that have a mixed line-up should be considered European or Worldwide.
Just my opinion, obviously.
